Aims:
Main aim:

 Identify key vocabulary in the context of countries and nationalities around the world

Subsidiary aim:

 recognise the nationalities of particular countries in spoken discourse


 pronounce names of countries and nationalities properly

Personal aim(s):

 To allow regulated L1 communication when referring to countries and nationalities


 To give clear instructions and ICQ's
 To correct more during drilling
 To build rapport and camaraderie in the classroom, especially if the students are of mixed
race/nationalities
 To expose students to different cultures that may facilitate their learning

Assumptions:

Before the lesson students should:

 be familiar with wh-questions introduced in an earlier lesson about "making introductions", such as
Where's he/she from? Where are you from?
 be able to ask a short question and give a short answer about themselves
 have some basic knowledge about countries and nationalities, whether in English or at least in their
native tongue
