MAK2062 Industrial Materials

Research/Literature Review Assignment

Delivery Deadline: April 26, 2019 – 10.00 p.m.

Assignment should be uploaded through Goggle Classroom as a Word file (*.doc or *.docx) before the
given deadline. The assignment manuscript preparation policy is given below and all manuscripts
should be prepared according to these rules.
Please note that “Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and a breach of ethics”; thus, an
assignment unsuitable in terms of ethics are not evaluated.

Assignment Scope

Assignment part names are given in “Assignment List” for everyone listed in Class Lists.
Please download the list document and learn your assignment title.

Your assignment should consist of;


 Materials used to manufacture the given part
 Manufacturing processes which we may use to manufacture the part using these
materials (for each material explain individually)
 Detailed information about the mostly used material to manufacture the part
 Your material and manufacturing process preference with detailed reasons

Research/Literature Review Assignment Preparation Policy

Your research/literature review assignment manuscript should be written by a Word Processor using
a computer with the given preferences below:

Font Type: Times New Roman, Arial or Calibri


Font Style & Size: Headings: Bold - 12p , Text: Regular – 11p
Line spacing: Single (1) (No extra gap before and after paragraphs)
Alignments: Title: Center; Headings: Left; Text: Left or Justified; Images, Tables and Captions: Center
Equations: Left of Justified; References: Left

Your assignment manuscript should comprise:


 Front Matter including: Title, Author Info and Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords
 The Literature Review/Main Text sections
 Back Matter including: Acknowledgments, References

Front Matter:
Author Info and Affiliations: Authors' full first and last names must be provided. The initials of any
middle names can be added. The PubMed/MEDLINE standard format is used for affiliations:
complete address information including city, zip code, state/province, country, and all email
addresses.
Abstract: should give a brief information about the whole manuscript and should contain min 100
and max 200 words.
Keywords: Three to five pertinent keywords need to be added after the abstract. We recommend
that the keywords are specific to the article, yet reasonably common within the subject discipline.

Literature Review/Main Text:


Main Text: Main text part should be between 6-8 pages. Numbering of different sections are
optional.
Figures and tables used in the manuscript should be less than 30% of main text and must be
explained in the previous paragraph.
All Figures and Tables should be inserted into the main text close to their first citation and must be
numbered following their number of appearance (Figure 1, Figure 2, Table 1, etc.).
All Figures and Tables should have a short explanatory title and/or caption.
Equations should be in a new line and be numbered on the right side of equation, ex:
F=m.a (Eq. 1)

Back Matter:
Acknowledgments: Fundings, helps, assistance thanks should be given in this section, if available.
References: References must be numbered in order of appearance in the text (including table
captions and figure legends) and listed individually at the end of the manuscript. We recommend
preparing the references with a bibliography software package, such as EndNote.
In the main text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the
punctuation of the first sentence written originated from the reference; for example [1], [1–3] or
[1,3].
The reference list should include the full title, as recommended by the ACS style guide. For Endnote
style, refer to: http://endnote.com/downloads/style/mdpi

References should be described as follows, depending on the type of work:


Journal Articles:
