‘A New World’

When I was a kid with lips stained with milk, my first trip to Asia was to
Hong Kong, in 2012. We arrived at the Hong Kong International
Airport (Chek Lap Kok) after one hour and fourty-five minutes non-
stop flight from Philippines. I really enjoyed the journey and flying for
the first time with my family. While we are walking inside the airport to
pick up our luggage I can’t help but be amazed from inside. Chek
Lap Kok airport is impressive, perfectly designed for the most efficient
flow of passengers.

Hong Kong is astonishing. From the first day I stepped on the ground.
I feel like I’m in wonderland, a totally new world. First, you will notice
the tall and very thin apartment buildings. Really thin! Once you get
to Kowloon, the streets are needlelike, aligned with shops,
restaurants, outdoor markets and street vendors. Plus the city is very
clean and everybody is alive!

But there is order in chaos. For example, even if you are a relative
you should inform them that you will visit them. The ‘Discrimination’ is
faddy in Hong Kong and not all but most people there you are
treated by your color.

It was nice to finally travel in a big city with extra money in our back
pocket.

Every time I go out for a walk, I see that people like to go out to eat
and have a conversation with friends. The street vendors are always
full. The Dim-sum is so tasty! The smell of roasted sweet potatoes and
charcoal-cooked chestnut fill the streets in Kowloon. And of course
my favorite, it’s hard to resist the sweet, thus I really love sweets.
Heavenly smell of delicious eggettes! It is made by pouring egg
batter onto a unique waffle iron or griddle and cooking until it’s crisp
on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. There are a lot of
flavors of eggettes but I usually buy banana and nutella spread and
cookies and cream topped with chocolate chips or colorful sprinkles.
Our first visit was to Hong Kong Disneyland, this is the first most visited
place in Hong Kong. There has a few stunning exclusive attractions
and a host of ‘zones’ that will entice any Disney die-hard-fun. Some
Disney Parks attractions feel so fantastic- so necessary, it’s almost
difficult to imagine the park without them. That is how I feel about
Space Mountain because Hyperspace Mountain is one of my all-
time favorite rides at Disneyland. So I was really frenzied to riding it in
Hong Kong! This one is fun because you sit side by side on the ride, it
goes super-fast, and you get your picture taken! I love rides that take
your picture. And thus, the first over thrill ride I experience at
Disneyland. Our second destination was to Victoria Peak, as we
explored the city, it became clear that Victoria Peak, a mountain
peak on the western half of Hong Kong Island. The panoramic city
and harbor views are outstanding! You really get a sense as to just
how insanely huge Hong Kong is.

And for our last stop is Ocean Park, that no matter what your age is,
a visit to Ocean Park will fill you with warm fuzzies. They have
everything for people of all age groups, from exciting thrill rides like
roller coaster Main Train, Hair Raiser, Whirly Bird, The Flash and much
more to visiting animals like Giant Panda, red panda, koala,
penguins, dolphins, pacific walrus, and a huge number of aquatic
species in the Grand Aquarium. I also remember that they take care
of the world’s oldest giant panda, I already forgot the name of the
panda but I am so sure that it is a girl. In addition to amazing thrill
rides, animal encounters and attractions with local flavor, Ocean
Park is also a new destination for both dining and nighttime
entertainment. Plus the accessories there are so cute and unique,
that’s why I kept the bracelet, ball pen, and stuff toy as a souvenir.

Not only does it offer amazing thrill rides unlike other theme parks,
Ocean Park is a balanced mix of entertainment, education and
conservation facilities to guests. And that is why. Ocean Park is one
of Hong Kong’s tourist attractions.

Travelling to Hong Kong is not boring at all, in fact, it turns out to be

the most diverting experience! Until now, I keep on reminiscing
about our trip to Hong Kong and I wanted to travel there again. For
the last time, to experience once again the unmatchable with brings
joy and fond memories.
