University Days Singing Competition

OBJECTIVES:
 To be able to showcase the Angelites vocal prowess and style in terms of solo singing by means
of clashing with other participants
 To be able to enhance the self-confidence of the contestant in order to be a globally competitive
individual in the future
 To be able to make one of their best moments here in the University by means of singing.

GENERAL GUIDELINES: SINGING COMPETITION

1. Each school/college/department is allowed to have two (2) participants.
2. Holy Angel University performing arts members and trainees are prohibited to join the
competition.
3. The competition consists of 2 stages:
 Elimination Stage
 Championship Stage

Elimination Stage
4. Each participant should pick one (1) number from the bowl. There are six (6) numbers inside
the bowl from one (1) to six (6). All participants with the same number will be considered as
one (1) group. Each group should consist of 3 participants (may come from the same
department) and that group will do a sing-off and the winner will move on the Final Stage.
From the expected eighteen (18) participants, there will be six (6) groups consisting of three (3)
participants. Each participant will pick another number after being grouped. The number will
dictate who will sing first, second and last in their group.

Championship Stage
5. 1st round (Advantage round): The highest scoring two (2) participants during the Elimination
Stage have the power to choose one (1) participant whom they want to clash and challenge. In
this round, the chosen participant will sing first, followed by the highest scoring participant. At
the end of this round, there will be 3 winners who will move on the 2nd round of the
Championship Stage.

2nd round (Battle of the Vocal Prowess): The last 3 remaining participants will do a final clash
for the 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up, and Champion spot.

6. Each performance must not exceed five (5) minutes (elimination and championship stage). A
deduction of five (5) points will be applied for every exceeding five (5) seconds.
7. Elimination Stage (music and submission): the participants of the event must submit one (1)
mp3 – mp4 format saved in a flash drive labeled as “The Class (Department)” for their
music/song. The submission must be on December 05, 2018 (Wednesday) at the USC Office.

8. Championship Stage (music and submission: If you won in the Elimination Stage please
comply with the following)
The participants of the event must submit one (1) mp3 – mp4 format saved in a flash drive
labeled as “The Clash (Department)” for their music/song at the USC Office. The submission
will be announced after the Elimination Stage on December 08, 2018 (Saturday).

9. Participants must attend all the meetings, photo-shoot, video-shoot and other affairs set by the
organizers. If the student is not allowed during the said date, the officer-in-charge of their
department must provide the excuse letter or else the contestant will suffer the consequences. If
the participants are not around during the meeting, the OIC of their department should be there
for update and information purposes.

10. The OIC of the event will set two (2) dates for the photo shoot and Video shoot. In case the
participant is not around during the first date of the photo shoot, he/she can attend the second
date in order for him/her to catch up and have his/her photo shoot and video shoot.
Announcement of the dates will be posted on the Group Chat made by the OIC.

11. Registration form of the two (2) participants must be submitted on November 28, 2018
(Wednesday) together with the Photo Copy of his/her ID at the USC Office from 9am-9pm.

12. Organizer of the event reserves the right to change any portion of this event including the
guidelines if deemed necessary.

13. The Criteria for judging:

Voice Quality and Singing Technique 30%

Over all Stage Performance 25%
Mastery and Timing 20%
Clarity and Enunciation 15%
Entertainment Value and 10%
Audience Impact
Total Score 100%
