Simulation of 3D trough using concept of line models

Model

 Create ten construction points in 3D space


 By creating a text file containing coordinates of 10 points

 Click <Point> on the toolbar


 Select the TEXT file
 Click <Generate>
 Points show up in the graphic space
 Select <concept/Lines from points>
 Define all members and then click <Apply> and <Generte>
 Select <Concept/Cross Section/L Section and type dimensions for the steel angle
 Turn on <View/Cross Section> & turn off <Cross Section Alignment> if it is on
 Default cross section alignments are shown
 Close designmodeler

Generate Mesh:

 Highlight <Mesh>
 Type a number for <Element Size>
 Generate Mesh

Supports:
 Select <Supports/Fixed Support> & select 4 vertices at the base and Apply
 Select <Loads/Forces>
 Select P1 P2 P3 P6 and click <Apply>
Results
 Highlight <Solutions>
 Select <Deformation/Total>
 Select <Tools/Beam Tool>
 With <Beam tool> highlighted & select <Stress/Minimum Bending Stress>
 Select <Stress/Maximum Bending Stress>
 Highlight these results objects
 Turn off <Use Average> in the Details view
 Click <Solve>
