PRELIMINARY CLEANUP DURING REPAIB

USING FILTER CADDY
To prevent future failures, cleanup of transmission hydraulic
oil is recommended at any time there is suspicion of
contamination due to component failure, major disassembly,
or introduction oI foreign materials.

IMPORTANT: This procedure is not a substitute for

care{ul cleaning of parts and cavities
during repair.

Do not attempt to cleanup oil which is

contaminated with water, lubricants of
improper specilication, or large amounts
of debris.

Do not cleanup oil which has been used

beyond its recommended chan ge
interval.

MONITORING SYSTEM OIL CLEANUP USING
OIL TRANSFER UNIT
IMPORTANT: Alter tractor repair and while the tractor
is running, perform the tollowing steps
for checking f ilter restriction at 10 min.,
30 min., t hr., 2 hrs., and 3 hrs.

1. Run engine at 2000 RPM, with all controls in neutral.

2. Cover oil cooler to obtain oil temperature at least 49' C

(120'F). (However if excessive temperature is indicated
uncover a portion of the oil cooler.)

3. On INVESTIGATOR ll equipped tractors monitorthe tilter

service warning lighl on the dash.

4. On non-INVESTIGATOR ll equipped tractors measure

the pressure at the filter service port. At any time lhis
pressure exceeds 1500 kPa (15.0 bar) (220 psi) replace
transmission filter.

NOTE: Normal system pressure is 1200 kPa (12.0bar) (175

psi). When the filter valve opens, pressure will be
1200 + 340 kPa (12.0 + 3.4 ba) (175 + 50 psi)
or 1540 kPa (15.4 ba) e20 psi).

5. Replace hydraulic oil filter every other time the transmis-

sion oil lilter is replaced.

6. After tractor has run tor three hours, ooerate tractor in

high gear for 1 5 minutes.
