Regional Director Officer-in-Charge SUBJECT : ADDENDUM TO RM No. 50 s. 2018 dated 09/26/18 “CONDUCT OF THE 3" REGIONAL ALS TAGIS-GALING” DATE : October 29, 2018 To facilitate orderly and systematic conduct of the abovementioned activity, attached are the Modified Guidelines, List of Categories, Schedule and /Matrix of Activities, for reference and guidance. ‘TAGIS-GALING will be held at Romblon National High School, Division of Romblon on November 13-15, 2018. Division participants are expected to arrive at the venue on November 12, 2018 for the Final Coordination Meeting (TWG) at 1:00 p.m. Attendance of all concerned is required. Opening program starts at 8:00 a.m. on November 13, 2018 while the Closing program and ‘Awarding ceremonies will be on November 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. onwards. Division delegation heads are advised to coordinate with Mr. Willy Y. GENERAL GUIDELINES: 2018 ALS TAGIS-GALING COMPETITION Goal: We expose the ALS leamers in all areas of development to help them in their journey towards achieving productive self-worth and guiding them to improve their own capabilities, among others. We also drive them to aim for excellence in terms of participation to academic & skills contests, and even in sport competitions. ALS Tagis-Galing is a good avenue where the learners’ abilities can be showcased and recognized at their best. ‘Said activity is a Regional Contest involving three (3 mentioned categories. Thus in this view, coaches should have clearly facilitated learners’ clear understanding of the significance of this competition, the quality of the outcomes have been ensured, thus efficient & effective conduct of the division level elimination rounds per category is further expected to have been carefully undertaken in consideration of the defined overall system and organization of the Selection process. And, to ensure success and faimess of this year’s Tagis-Galing, . the following items are presented as part of the general guidelines: 1. Qualifications of the Contestants. All contestants / players must be enrolled in any program/s of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) or contestants’ names should be found in the LIS from January to December 2018 subject for the assessment of the screening committee. 2. Number of Contestants. Only one contestant is allowed for individual competition. In ball games and team events, the required number of players shall be applied. 3. Assignment of ALS Focal Person. All ALS focal persons shall be assigned as Tournament Manager/Chairman in any games or competitions wherein their expertise can be easily exercised. 4, Judging Instruments. Key Persons and Coaches must understand the basic philosophy and principles of Tagis-Galing competitions in line with the rules or guidelines as stipulated in the activities under each subject/skill/category or area. 5, Criteria for Judging. There shall be written criteria which are to be discussed prior to the actual conduct of the academic/skill contests/games. In sports, providing athletes and partners with the best technical instruction will go a long way toward meaningful participation by all. 6. Budgetary Requirements. Meals shall be provided by the Regional Office to at least 105 working committee members. In support to the realization of the programs & activities, division offices are encouraged to allocate or contribute financial assistance which shall be proposed by the ALS Division Focal Persons subject for review / agreement and approval of the Schools Division Superintendents. 7. Foeus of the DALSCs and MTs. The ALS Implementers will help the organizers, key officials to motivate the GOs, NGOs, POs, to avail of financial assistance to suffice the needs of the participants’ traveling allowances, food and other incidental expenses relative to this activity. 8, Summation of points for Championships. The summation of points shall be applied and bracketed with these presentations: Ballgames/ Group/Team Games: First Place - 25 points Second Place - 15 points Third Place - 10 points Fourth Place - 5 points Athletics 1st --7 points 2nd - 5 points 3 - 3 points 4-1 point ‘These points shall be applied to acquire the equivalent points for 100, 200 and 400 meter dash and to assess the rank of team competitors. Ranking of results shall be based from the sum of points from 100, 200 and 400 meter dash. Equivalent points per rank are as follows: Rank 1-30 points 2-20 3-10 4- 5 9, Overall Champion for the Academics, Skills and Sports- ‘Three (3) categories for the overall champions shall be declared, i.e., academics, skills and sports. Agreements to further determine the points for oth categories shall be taken up during the final coordination meeting, only, if necessary. 11. Submission of official results (name of winner/div/cle/coach) to the Records Committee shall be done every after conduct of the contest/competition/game daily. 10. Any modifications or changes from these guidelines shall be considered to attain the smooth execution of the program contents. However, such changes are still subject for review of the Key Officials concerned. 10. And, to strengthen the values of solidarity, sportsmanship, and professionalism, everyone is hereby expected to demonstrate desirable values, behavior and attitudes during the entire duration of TAGIS-GALING. ‘CLMD/JSL
