Learning priority: Develop sense of belonging and confidence.

Zakaria, it’s wonderful to see you feeling comfortable and secure with An-Nur community and
started to explore. You are settling so well mashaAllah. The other day as I was observing you,
and found you have been engaged on many outdoor activities. I know you love outdoor
activities. At one point I found you sitting in the sandpit surrounded with your peers, relaxed
and happily playing. Although you were mainly playing solitary, alongside with your friends, I
could see you were enjoying their company. I have also noticed that you like playing with
transports, construction activities, climb up and slide down, swing, sandpit, most of all you
love bikes. You stared to develop good relationships with your peers and with all the teachers.
It’s good to see you started to understand the routines and how things work at An Nur. You
feel more comfortable as you have many friends who speaks same language as you and the
Arabic teacher and all other Kaiako supports your culture and language.

What’s next?
Zakaria, InshaAllah we will continue to provide environment for you where you will feel
sense of belonging and safe to learn and develop alongside other children. Slowly we will
introduce you to English language which will make you feel more comfortable around the
An-Nur community and around wider community in New Zealand inshaAllah.
