Question 1
a) Start a new drawing using acadiso.dwt template and using layers of your choice (keeping standard
of line types and thickness).
b) Draw a right angle triangle with coordinate of 90˚ vertex at 200,200. The height and base of the
triangle are 150 mm and 250 mm, respectively.
c) Draw a circle inside the triangle tangent to all three sides.
d) What are the coordinate for the centre of the circle? ………………………………………………
e) Write down the procedures to mirror the tringle-circle object using the mirror line that is parallel to
the longer side of the triangle offset at a distance of 50 mm. Do not consult AutoCAD for hints when
writing the procedures.

f) Now mirror the object.

g) Make a copy of the object using the right angle corner as the base point and specify the coordinate
500,500 as the second point and reduce the object by five times. Write down this scale: ……………
h) Create a polar array of the reduced sized object to 10 objects using the centre point of array as a
point 200 mm from the centre of the circle to the right and the angle of fill to be 360˚.

Do not dimension.

Question 2
Using the polyline tool, draw the object given in figure Q2. All line segments are to have a width of 6 mm
and all arc segments are to have a width of 3 mm. Do not dimension.

Question 3
Draw the object in figure Q3 using line and arc tools. Make one copy of the object. Convert the copied
object into polyline with the width of outer polyline set to 4 mm and 2 mm for the inner polyline. Do not
colour the object and do not dimension.

Question 4
i. Draw the four objects shown in figure Q4.
ii. Hatch the two objects but do not colour/gradient the other two.
iii. Dimension the objects (note that some dimensions are wrongly done, correct them).

Printing hard copies

ü As much as possible, all drawings should be printed to full scale except drawings in question 1 that
should be printed to a reduced scale of 1:2.
ü Hard copies to be printed on A3 pages and do not forget the title block and border lines.
