Body (min):
Learning Activity #1:
• Students will explore how to use base-10 materials to illustrate long division problems
on the computer program
• I will model how to use the website first
• Alternatively, we will review as a class using magnets
• Then, students will work in their Jump Math workbooks
Teacher Actions:
• Facilitates teacher-driven lesson while having students guide the steps
• Models how to use base 10 materials to solve long division problems
Sponge Activities:
• Catch up work (Jump Math, Grey duotang)
• Division & Multiplication Choice Board
• Division games
Assessments/Differentiation:
• Base-10 magnets will help the abstract concept of long division make sense
• Working on the laptops will help students learn at their own pace
