Melinda Pavey Med Rel - Fingal Bay Link Road Funded As A State Project
MEDIA RELEASE
Roads Minister Melinda Pavey and Liberal candidate for Port Stephens Jaimie Abbott
announced the commitment to design and build Fingal Bay Link Road as a State road.
Mrs Pavey said the $188 million investment in Fingal Bay Link Road was only possible
through the strong economic management of the NSW Liberals & Nationals
Government.
“I know the community and Port Stephens Council want this road. As a councillor,
Jaimie has been one of the strongest advocates for this road. I am always reminded
by locals of the need for this new road connection, and Jaimie has certainly been
strong in reinforcing that position.”
Ms Abbott said she had made Fingal Bay Link Road a priority, reflecting the passion
of her constituents in calling for the road to provide a second access route for the
community.
“I know the Fingal Bay and Shoal Bay communities have faced a long wait for the
Fingal Bay Link Road. I am very happy to be here today to confirm that under a NSW
Liberals & Nationals Government, it will be built,” Ms Abbott said.
“The proposed Fingal Bay Link Road will improve traffic flow, journey times and safety
for motorists as well as supporting tourism in the area.”
A route options report, to include concept designs, traffic modelling, heritage and
environmental investigations to determine a preferred route, will be completed this
year.
The road is expected to include new fauna crossings and fencing that have been
proven to protect wildlife.
