Are Manufacturers Giving the Correct Information on
Juice Boxes?

Introduction

The purpose of this SBA is to determine whether the

information is directly stated on the selected juice boxes.
My aim is to investigate and compare the calculated
volume that is found in these juice boxes against the stated
volume by examining the starting volume after the length,
width and height

 Method of Data Collection

My information was collected by obtaining five different

sizes of juice boxes at a grocery store. The stated volume
on each juice box was recorded using ml (millitres) and
was converted to cm (centimetres) to make the comparison
of the like terms. To find the calculated I must obtain the
length, width, and height using a ruler as my instrument.

 Discussion
After gathering enough information, the results were not what I
was expecting. All the other juice boxes except Nestle´ Orchard
Fruit Punch calculated volume had more than the stated volume.
This just shows that juice boxes are being produced without the
right amount of calculation. A comparison between the juice
boxes using the stated and given volume showed that they were
similarly related compared to their size.

A comparison between the Dimes Apple Juice stated volume of

200ml and the Fruita Kool Kidz stated volume 200ml are the
same but their calculated volume is different due to an increase in
measurement length and width.

 Conclusion

Manufactures that produce these juice boxes tend to not take

into to consideration that accurate measurements is an necessity
or else customers wouldn’t be purchasing any juice boxes if they
are not getting what they are paid for can easily sue a company
for any incorrect information.
However, even if the sizes are equal does not classify that there
will be the same calculation. Therefore, if the measurements can
be predicted their information would be accurate.
