President’s Message
Officers
Every year, BASRP, Chapter 11, gives monetary donations to
President
community service projects which service children. We need the
Joyce Sigelko
help of our members from the Midland Area School Districts. We
President Elect are asking for your suggestions for community projects to which we
Barb Skowronski can give a monetary gift (i.e. Boys and Girls Club). Please give us
your recommendations with their address which will help when a
Program check is to be mailed. We would appreciate as many names and
Vice President addresses as you can give us. We will keep them for future use.
Janet Brandt
Ardith Reszke Chapter 11 also awards scholarships of $200 to teachers to use toward classroom
projects that they submit for our committee to consider each year.
Secretary
Margaret Bird The scholarship committee sent out letters in 2018 to principals and superintendents
of the Midland area districts along with the school districts in the Bay City area
Treasurer districts. Unfortunately, we did not get any applicants from the Midland Area Districts.
Connie Frank We hope to award scholarships to teachers in the Midland districts also. We need you
Past President to tell teachers and principals of this scholarship’s availability. Watch minutes in our
Sandy DeWaele newsletter so you can talk to teachers about applying for a scholarship to use for a
project in their classroom.

Hello, my name is Marvin Webber. I am married to Alice Webber and we have two
wonderful daughters, Julie and Kathy. I’m a graduate of Roosevelt High School 1953 in
Ypsilanti, a private training school of Michigan Normal College.
I joined the US Army after graduation, and served two years at 5th Army Headquarters, printing classified
information with a clearance level of confidential and secret. After army I worked for University Microfilms,
Inc. in Ann Arbor doing Research and Development of four-color offset printing in advertising for the auto
industry. After the Detroit Riots we moved from Farmington Hills to Kawkawlin and purchased the family
farm and homestead.
Started teaching Graphic and Printing Communication at the Bay Arenac Skill Center to high school and
adult education students. Obtained my teaching degree in 1978 from Central Michigan University with a
B.S. in Education. Obtained my Master of Arts in Education in 1980. Retired after 25 years of teaching 10,
11, and 12 grades in Bay City.
Volunteered for Habitat for Humanity on construction of five homes and obtained my Michigan Residential
Builders’ License in 1995, obtained my Landscape License in 1996, and was self-employed until health
problems slowed me down.
Have enjoyed Square Dancing for many years, loved playing cards, fishing, camping in our RV, traveling,
and gardening. I’m a member and volunteer of The Thumb Octagon Barn restoration in Gagetown, MI.
After retirement, my barn became my workshop and sanctuary; a place to work on many projects.
