What are it’s Popular Features?

• People can decide how much to contribute based on what

they can or are willing to give, and in return they will be
compensated with monthly rewards based on tiers
designed by the creators of each page.

6
Who is the Intended Audience?

• It is intended for artists and their fans. It’s an easy way to

connect and contribute to your favorite artists!
• According to the Patreon Home Page, Podcasters, Video
Creators, Musicians, Visual Artists, Writers, and many
more type of creators use Patreon as a way to earn
money and connect with their fans.
7
How does it fit into the Characteristics of
Social Media?
• While not necessarily a traditional form of social media,
Patreon still allows a connection between fans and artists.
• Since a large majority of content is only visible to paying
members, it allows for smaller and more intimate
communities to develop.

8
Why Should we care About and use Patreon?

• Not every fan can afford to purchase every new thing a

creator makes, and not all creators produce content that
can be shipped to your door. This way fans can support
creators, and creators can connect with fans, all on
everyone’s own terms.

9
Why do I use Patreon?

• I only subscribe to a few creators on Patreon, and

contribute a relatively low amount each month, but I still
get exclusive content and am able to help finance what
would otherwise be very expensive projects that wouldn’t
produce much profit in return.
