I FOR INDEPENDENCE

The theme for the assembly is “I for Independence” , we could start by a narrator
giving a brief introduction/synopsis of the freedom struggle and how it affected the
masses and end by questioning the validity of our independence and if it really is
what our leaders ,during the freedom struggle, envisioned it to be .

So it could be modelled on an upward graph, so we could first list out a few negative
qualities from ‘i’ then moving on to a few positive ones.

• Insurgency -in the north east, thousands of people have died during fighting between
insurgents and the government as well as thousands of civilians who have died as a result
of being targeted by the various armed groups.
• Illiteracy- still a big problem.
• Infrastructure -or rather, the lack of it.

We can then move on to the positives,

Individuality-How even in a diverse country like india, the people are bound
together by an underlying feeling of patriotism.

We could also highlight the various areas india has developed in independence.
Education , space, research , entertainment, global presence , transport etc.

————————————————

We could also do a side by side comparison of modern india and pre

independence india, and the actors could portray the differences.

It is the people, their power of knowledge, caliber, and perseverance that makes
a country good and great,. A country is empty if there are no people. We the
people form our Government; we the people rule not our lives but the whole
life of our stupendous country. We the people make or mar the present, future
of our country. We the people mould, shape our country in whatever manner
we want to.
