DRI promotes the political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions worldwide. DRI Pakistan DRI has been active in Pakistan since 2010 when it opened its first project office in Islamabad. Between 2010 and 2013, DRI's work in Pakistan focused on creating a stronger electoral process ahead of the 2013 general elections and provided on-going technical support to Pakistan's parliament on electoral reforms. This included briefings for key stakeholders, publications on topics such as international standards for election laws, the role of women in voting, and local election legal framework assessments for Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and the Islamabad Capital Territory. Human Rights Advocacy with GSP+ DRI supports advocacy on human rights, including civil and political rights, as part of a project funded by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The project seeks to strengthen Pakistan's ability to maintain its preferential GSP+ trading status with the EU by helping it to meet the international human rights obligations upon which the status is conditioned. The projects activities include awareness and advocacy campaigns as well as on-demand support to state bodies on human rights monitoring and compliance. » 3 G 3 s is i 2 Fo = Fd © Fs 5 4 5 2 = 5 by ey
