Why is child abuse still accepted when there are already cases of death?

Child deaths from abuse and neglect are deaths resulting from acts of physical
violence or neglect of a child that are perpetrated by a family member or a primary
caregiver. Child abuse is one of the largest causes of death in children under 5 years of
age in many western countries. It is alarming to see these results in our society and some
are not given importance to. We believe that children have right to be children and live
their lives to the fullest, but it is estimated that at least one out four children suffer abuse
in western countries and even reported as similar statistics that exist worldwide. So that
means that a large number of children will grow up to be humiliated and permanently
damaged in mind and/or body.

Most cases of these abuses are usually unreported because of the lack of
seriousness about the matter. There are cases in which people misjudge the current
situation so they will rather not provide help. Also, we lack knowledge of the difference
of abuse and discipline. And, since kids are not taken seriously, it is also hard for them to
speak up and that’s why even there are reported cases of death, many people in our
society sees it as not big of a problem since the victims are just kids.
