Every piece of dialogue is written in a separate paragraph

There two kinds of dialogue

1. Direct dialogue: I said. “I am tired” * these dialogues are always written in separate
paragraphs
2. Reported dialogue: I said I was tired
 There should NOT be a lot of direct dialogue
o About 60% of the dialogue should be reported

What is plot element?

o Dev in the story is a plot element when he enters the story

Characterization*

 Significant detail should be included about characters (to make characters real)

Characters

1. Flat character
2. Rounded
  Give some setting about it and start dialog.
o Two people having a dialog; not matter where they have the dialog on.
 The rules for dialog should be followed and implemented
 No need for dialog tags
o It should just two people talking about each other
o

Characterization:
To show how characters are by using words and sentences to describe them.

*We cannot read character’s thoughts.

 Instead of saying something for sure, we better use words like “looked, seemed”
o Ex: Musa noticed that she looked ashamed.
