Slide open the furnace to reveal the sample housing 2. Place the sample between the wall of housing and the plunger 3. Bring the temperature sensor in contact with the test specimen 4. Slide back the furnace to close the sample housing 5. Connect the machine with laptop through USB comport 6. Double click the “Orton Dilatometer” icon 7. Input the sample details and start the test through command from software. 8. After completion of test open the chamber after it cools down and remove the sample. Precautions: 1. DO NOT touch the chamber while test is running. 2. CLEAN UP and fine particles in the tube very carefully 3. Make sure that the sample is rectangular in shape, with all sides properly polished (smooth) and at right angle to each other
