Field Community Consolidated School - Custodial Staff June 2017 - August 2017
As a member of the Custodial Staff at Field Grade School this summer, I prepared the school
campus for the following school year by transferring heavy boxes of school supplies and inventory,
cleaning the campus in its entirety, and various tasks related to custodial work.
Terri Bryant for State Representative Campaign - Political Intern March 2018 - November 2018
As an intern of the Terri Bryant for State Representative Campaign, I went door to door across
several communities and towns of Southern Illinois, campaigning for Terri Bryant in her political
endeavors. This experience helped expand my communication skills as I was forced to go out of my
comfort zone, speaking to individuals who I have never met before.
Little Egypt District of Student Councils - District President March 2018 - PRESENT
❖ Presides and leads Little Egypt District (which encompasses Southern Illinois in its entirety) in accomplishing goals set in the
Program of Work, which includes increasing involvement with the St. Jude’s Foundation, our District Service Partner
❖ Works to initiate new, innovative ways to involve all councils (Hosted a conference specifically for all council officers to inform
them of prospective events and activities within the district; also increased communication by offering a direct line of
communication with each council) (Attendance has already increased substantially at the state and district level since last year)
❖ Strives to recognize council’s efforts by creating several recognition programs (Councils have not had the opportunity to recognize
outstanding members at the district level in the past; thus, I created 5 awards to recognize extraordinary members of our district)
❖ Plans various district events, including a Fall Workshop and District Convention (Fall Workshop registration has doubled since
past year; councils that have not attended District Convention in past has already demonstrated interest in attending this year)
Illinois Southern Area Future Business Leaders of America - Area Vice President January 2018 - PRESENT
❖ Works to recruit new chapters to create more extracurricular opportunities for other schools (Chartered one new member school
in first month of office; currently in contact with other schools in area about starting a new chapter or becoming more involved)
❖ Assists in planning events for the Illinois Southern Area, including the Southern Area Conference

❖ Presides over all meetings of the Executive Board and Chapter
❖ Encourages membership activity and involvement (Recruited over 50 new members; received recognition at the national level for
recruitment) (Tripled membership involvement in comparison to past years)
❖ Communicates with fellow Career Technical Student Organizations to start events to raise awareness of Career and Technical
Education (Successfully planned CTSO Week, which concluded with a proclamation from the Mayor of Mt. Vernon)
❖ Completes national awards that recognize Mt. Vernon’s chapter as one of the most active and productive in the nation (Completed
Non-Stop November, Action Awareness, Super Sweeps, Diamond Chapter Award, and Gold Seal Chapter Award)

❖ Oversees school spirit and school improvement committees to create a positive environment on our campus
❖ Serves as a liaison with the Principal, administration, and Board of Education to approve all council events and initiatives
❖ Promotes council involvement through social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat (Increased social
media engagements by over 400%)

❖ Mentors underclassmen in speaking and acting events, training them for success in their respective events

❖ Chaired statewide Honor Council Committee and revised guidelines to make it more practical to the goals of Student Council
❖ Promoted the mission of Let It Be Us (Illinois Student Council’s State Service Partner) in order to raise money for foster care
students to attend summer programs and school with brand new supplies (Raised over $30,000 for Illinois’ foster care students)
