As a member of the Custodial Staff at Field Grade School this summer, I prepared the school
campus for the following school year by transferring heavy boxes of school supplies and inventory,
cleaning the campus in its entirety, and various tasks related to custodial work.

Terri Bryant for State Representative Campaign ​- ​Political Intern ​March 2018 - November 2018
As an intern of the Terri Bryant for State Representative Campaign, I went door to door across
several communities and towns of Southern Illinois, campaigning for Terri Bryant in her political
endeavors. This experience helped expand my communication skills as I was forced to go out of my
comfort zone, speaking to individuals who I have never met before.

Central Christian Church - ​Kids Ministry Leader Mount Vernon, IL
To give back to my local church and provide spiritual leadership for my community’s youth, I August 2017 - PRESENT
volunteer at each ministry function by leading a devotional group and assisting the church’s staff.

Cedarhurst Center for the Arts - ​Youth Ambassador Mount Vernon, IL

As an active participant in the arts, I was one of two selected from my school to represent my August 2017 - PRESENT
local community’s museum through the Youth Ambassador Program. As an ambassador, I plan
and help promote events hosted by the institution.

Illinois Future Business Leaders of America​ ​- ​State President ​April 2018 - PRESENT
❖ Presides and leads Illinois FBLA at all functions, including Executive Council meetings, State Leadership Conference sessions, and
the Illinois State Meeting at the National Fall Leadership Conference
❖ Advocates for increased awareness of Career and Technical Education throughout the entire state
❖ Serves as a member on the Illinois Coordinating Council for Career Technical Student Organization’s Board of Directors (Proposed
joint conference between each Illinois Career Technical Student Organization; currently helping plan event for near future)
❖ Promotes the mission, vision, and goals of Illinois FBLA through resource development and community outreach (Led the creation
of the Program of Work, which includes goals on increasing membership activity, initiating new community service projects, and
providing additional opportunities for all members)

Little Egypt District of Student Councils - ​District President March 2018 - PRESENT
❖ Presides and leads Little Egypt District (which encompasses Southern Illinois in its entirety) in accomplishing goals set in the
Program of Work, which includes increasing involvement with the St. Jude’s Foundation, our District Service Partner
❖ Works to initiate new, innovative ways to involve all councils (Hosted a conference specifically for all council officers to inform
them of prospective events and activities within the district; also increased communication by offering a direct line of
communication with each council) (Attendance has already increased substantially at the state and district level since last year)
❖ Strives to recognize council’s efforts by creating several recognition programs (Councils have not had the opportunity to recognize
outstanding members at the district level in the past; thus, I created 5 awards to recognize extraordinary members of our district)
❖ Plans various district events, including a Fall Workshop and District Convention (Fall Workshop registration has doubled since
past year; councils that have not attended District Convention in past has already demonstrated interest in attending this year)

❖ Assists the National North Central Region Vice President with various duties and leads the North Central Region Council in
objectives and goals, including increasing Middle Level and Collegiate membership
❖ Promotes FBLA to other states by helping to charter new state chapters in Michigan and Minnesota
Illinois State Board of Education - ​Student Advisory Council Member ​September 2017 - PRESENT
❖ Works with state policymakers to provide a student’s perspective on state’s education policies
❖ Represents the State Board of Education on the Illinois’ Governor’s Youth Cabinet Commission, voicing my opinion on statewide
policies
❖ Conducts research in committees to present a project regarding a pertinent issue in the state to the State Board of Education
(Presented on College and Career Readiness and the lack of information regarding post-secondary options; as a council, we found
that this lack of information leads students to make unprepared or misinformed decisions for their future; thus, we developed and
launched a website in order to help students navigate career options following high school/college)
