The Student Exhibition Center (SEC),
hosts a variety of exhibits that benefit
Missouri State University students and
the Springfield community.
Located on Historic Walnut Street, the
SEC acts as a home for the arts. The
three-story Victorian house was built in
1894 and is a local historical landmark.
Each semester, MSU’s Art and Design
majors have the chance to showcase
their work to the public. These events
offer the opportunity for education and
professional experience.

The SEC also played a part in the
Practicum Projects
founding of the First Friday Art Walk,
which takes place the first Friday of
every month and supports art in
Downtown Springfield.
