Dear JET Program Representative:

When I first heard about the position of being a JET ALT, along with hearing many of the great
things about your company, I just knew I had to submit my resume. I see this position as the
ideal opportunity to contribute the skills I have gained from my experience working within my
university to help others further comprehend, read, and speak the English language. I understand
that JET seeks those who are adaptable, outgoing and dependable, which is why I know that I
would be an ideal fit for the position and the JET team overall.

With my past language studies, I have a high fluency in written as well as oral English, Japanese,
and Korean. My organizational, time-management, and communication skills are well
demonstrated in my experience as a Language Tutor in professional classrooms and private
settings. My customer service and conflict resolution skills will also serve as an important asset
as I am prepared to handle most day-to-day challenges that can arise in a working environment.
Furthermore, my experience has included helping both large and small groups of students from
diverse backgrounds all over the world, and as a result, I’m familiar with the need to be
adaptable and find myself excited by the prospect of a challenge.

I look forward to using my Leadership skills to assist in situations when difficult challenges
arise. My involvement as an Assistant Teacher has prepared me for recognizing the most
appropriate methods in identifying problems and offering solutions, along with developing
methods for troubleshooting areas of concern. I enjoy working with a wide variety of people and
am a multitasker, diligent worker, and team player. These skills along with my strong work-ethic
and positive attitude will work to the company’s advantage of meeting the needs of the many
students that I will help educate while working in Japan.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with someone within this company to discuss
my qualifications for working as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) within the JET program.
