Motivation As Instinct

 What is motivation as instinct ?

Motivation as instinct exists in all organisms to help them

survive, and instincts do not exist from learning or experience,
but they spontaneously have it. Instincts are goal-directed and
innate patterns of behavior.
 ● instinct: innate impulse from within a person that directs or motivates behaviour

● According to William James, he proposed a theory which is based on Charles Darwin and his theory
which states that determined instincts that have evolves in humans because they support survival
and procreation.
● Logically, instinct theory could be used to argue that all behaviour is due to instinct.

● it is impossible to determine whether many of the proposed instincts are truly inborn

● since some of the instinct may be a result from learning

For example
birds automatically and naturally build a nest, and migrate during the winter. They do not have
to learn how to do it, but know it themselves. Another example is that dogs shake their body, when they
get wet.
