Echo phrases with steady beat
Sing whole song with steady beat
Review so-mi signs and echo 1st phrase with signs
Place phrase on the staff in spaces
o Review “if so is in a space…then mi is in a space”
Sing phrase with solfege and hand signs then with words
Students listen while T. sings with beat and try to notice
something different with the rhythm
Have class sing the whole song with steady beat and pay attention
to “silent” spots
Teach and play game!
