INTRODUCTION

Rice is one of the major necessities of a human being, and its production is

probably stated as the most important economic activity. Rice belongs to the family

Poaceae and has two major types which are called Japonica and Indica. Japonica is a

sticky, short grained type of rice, usually cultivated in dry fields. It is extensively

cultivated and consumed in Asian countries such as China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

Indica is a non-sticky and long-grained type of rice and is mostly grown in submerged

fields and can be found in tropical countries like the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Java, Sri

Lanka, Indonesia, central and southern China, and African countries.. Both types have

many different varieties. Rice goes through a series of process before being sold to the

market and is usually grown from seeds. In the Philippines, it usually takes 4-5 months to

grow rice, from planting to harvest. Various products can be made from rice such as rice

flour, rice syrup, rice bran oil and rice milk. Rice is usually white in color, but brown

type of rice comes in different shades; brown, reddish, purplish and black.

The student-entrepreneurs of “M.A.E Bigasan Dito” thought of having a 3-month

long Enterprise Development Project that could help in retailing affordable yet high

quality rice products to the market. They started the business from December 22, 2018

until March 24 2019 and is located in Alapan II-A, Imus, Cavite. They are open every

quality rice to offer and sell affordable rice products in the market of Alapan II-A.

SUMMARY

M.A.E Bigasan Dito is a general partnership business venture that was managed

by Ms. Mary Ann Delos Reyes, Ms. Angelou Canoneo, and Ms. Estefanie Anne Miranda.

Their production site was at Alapan II-A Imus Cavite. The venture was focused on

offering a rice products. The said operation was from December 22, 2018 and lasted on

March 28, 2019 which completed the 90-days operation, and based on financial

statements, the venture was successful.

proponents, created an Organizational Development Intervention Plan. The third-year

researchers gathered data with regards of the M.A.E. Bigaasan Partnership. With the used

of the data and the six-sigma concept, the researchers have found out the different

problems encountered by the venture and the difference between the process flow of the

business from its proposal until to the actual implementation of the business. Other than

that, the researchers gave them an alternative choices and recommendation that could

help them on improving and developing their business.

25

CONCLUSION

The researchers concluded that M.A.E. Bigasan Enterprise Development Project

have been successful during their 90-days operation, but they also have encountered

problems and difficulties. The first thing that the researchers have noticed is that some of

their plan during the proposal was not implemented during the actual operations. The

price, product, and even suppliers in the proposal are different from the actual

implementation of the business.

There are also wastes found on the process flow of the production, marketing and

finance department on the actual operation of the business such as waste in motion,

transportation, waiting, and rework. Other than that, the researchers have also observed

that the business project that have given ,as a woman an equal opportunity to manage a

business and have an equal and fair work, duties and responsibilities.
26

RECOMMENDATION

The researchers recommend that M.A.E Bigasan Partnership should have a plan

whenever they have decision and action to be made. On planning a business, it is

important to make sure that resources, materials needed, capital and investment and the

management are all settled and prepared. Problems should be address quickly and the

business, even the management should always be opened for any suggestions and

concerns of the customers. With that, it could help them on identifying the problem of the

business.

Other than that, they should also conduct a post purchase evaluation to know if

their customers are satisfied with their product and service and to address their concerns,

suggestions, opinions and comments that could help on improving and developing the

product or service and the business itself. Business should also have an alternative in

terms of suppliers, packaging, and other materials needed in the business and to cater not

only individual, but to also businesses that could resell their product.

The management should utilize and maximize its resources, time, and effort

efficiently and effectively to lessen the cost and increase the sales, profits and other

benefits for the management and the business itself.
