PRAYERS FOR THE DECEASED: We pray for our loved ones who have died recently
especially Fr. Paschal O’Hagon, Audrey Freamo and Theresa Cybulski.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. We pray especially for Gary Cybulski,
Kay Kasaboski and Gladys McNulty. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.
BOOK OF LIFE: NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS wherein we pray
in a particular way for our Deceased. We have placed the
the Book of Remembrance with the names
inscribe
of those Deceased in our parish over the last year in the church. We also invite you to in scribe
those whom you wish to remember and whom you would like us to pray for during the Month of
the Holy Souls.
SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS (Nov. 1st)
All Saints’ Day is a celebration perfectly suited to autumn. As we draw toward the end of the
agricultural year, we celebrate God’s great harvest of all people throughout history who have
shown love, joy and service to others.
In the early years of the church, saints were proclaimed by the members of their villages and
towns. In about the 10th century the first canonizations took place. These were official statements
by the pope that someone was clearly a saint. For the past several centuries the process of
canonization has been a very thorough procedure involving years of investigation and reflection.
The number of canonized saints is relatively small. And yet the martyrology, the list of the saints,
includes over 10,000 names.
Today, we rejoice in the communion of saints. We’re part of this communion.
