58 MENU 10: Diagnostics
1 The display will show the transfer
progress while the selected control
unit is being contacted, see flowchart
page 60
2 If the control unit selected has no
faults ”No faults” is displayed.
Press ”Esc” to return to the previous
menu.
3 If the control unit selected does not re-
spond within 5 seconds ”Action
unsuccessful” is displayed. Go to ”Ac-
tions if transfer is unsuccessful”, see
“10. Diagnostics” page 56

menu.
4 The following can be displayed if the
selected control unit has fault codes:

Number of events: ”03”

5 This will show:
1: Control unit ID
2: Identification of parame-
ter/component
3: Fault type ID
4: Fault active/inactive
5: ”Total occurrences” displays how
many times the fault has been regis-
tered since the latest reset. If no
information is available for the amount
of times a fault code has been regis-
tered it will be displayed as being
”Active” (fault remains). Alternatively
it may display ”Inactive” (the fault
was present earlier).
6 The digits in the upper right corner
(”1/7” in this example) show the num-
ber of fault codes (”7”)and which
number in the order which is dis-

played the fault code has (”1”). ” /∇”
moves the cursor and the next fault
code/message will be displayed. ”Re-
set All” is the last item in the list. This
reset deletes only the fault codes for
the control unit selected.
7 If there are more than 20 fault
codes/messages for the selected con-
trol unit, the 21st message will be:

Fault diagnostics
Engine
Too many
fault messages

not shown, one or more of the first
messages must first be reset.
