I've always
wanted to
intentionally
leave a page blank
but I didn't wanna
waste any trees,
so, boom.
Twenty Five &
Drowning in Self-
Identity & Unsaved
Numbers.
A collection of thoughts and
poems.

Introduction
A lot of people always be like, "Justin, XL..." (yeah, some people call me "XL," cause I
wear an extra large shirt and then it kinda sorta went into jokes about how I'm xtra
lovable and xtra loud, so there you have it, a small introduction to me) "...you should
put all of your thoughts and poems into a book and release them for free." To be
honest, I know it's 'cause we're twenty-something year olds running around in our
hometowns, or new-towns, broke-to-the-bone, checking our bank balances on our
thousand dollar phones just to use our calculator to figure out how many packs of
Top Ramen we can snag for dinner this week. Nobody told me that growing up meant
only have having work friends — I noticed when I lost my job I stopped hanging out
with friends as frequently.

I don't know what it's like to make decisions without some degree of anxiety.

I'm still making it through life without some degree from college.

I'd like to dedicate this ebook to my past friendships that taught me compassion,
patience, and the ability to decipher myself for a better understanding.

Yeah, hello, what's up?
Why didn't you show last night?
Uh, I was busy.

poem | pg. 5
Treat doubt like the Heart of Rage.

The heart pumps life to itself

before the rest of the body.

thought | pg. 6
Orange VHS.
Nestle Bottle Caps, Cola.
Ah, nostalgia.

poem | pg. 10
Reach for the stars. Never let them
pull your strings.
Don't hold back.
This is your time. Your time.
Breathe out. In. Out.
What if I don't land up there?
You'll find yourself floating with
the stars, closer to heaven, and
never wanting to come home.
Will I get home-sick?

Yes.

poem | pg. 7
House phones kept us real.

Caller ID made us fake.

thought | pg. 8
I keep a hundred dollar watch
inside my fanny pack.
I guess I'm waisting my time.
I got caught up in a timeline of
social studies.
I guess I'm wasting my mind.
I'm finally working on my
waistline.
Did I just miss my prime?

Hold on, lemme check my phone.

poem | pg. 9
If the world was flat wouldn't the
sun set like a light switch...

Instantly?

thought | pg. 11
Selling extra heart.
Extremely dangerous though.
Stay away, humans.

poem | pg 12
It's not that you're not important
enough for me to save your phone
number, it's just like, what's the
point?
Like, you're never going to call me,
and scrolling through all of our old
messages isn't that big of a deal.

Besides, I don't answer calls from

unsaved phone numbers.

thought | pg. 13
Is AirDropping pick-up lines too
brash?

thought | pg. 14
Done.
