Going for the Bait

While local artist Connie Tveten
is acclaimed on the national
level for her wood-carved birds
and acrylic wildlife paintings on
sandstone, she has now taken
to the marine life as well. This is
Connie’s second walleye painting
on sandstone, a stunning work of
art indeed. As with her first walleye
work of art, will be up for grabs
at this Saturday’s Glasgow-Fort
Peck chapter’s annual Walleyes
Unlimited Banquet. Donated
by Missouri River Realty, this
is the first in a series of acrylic
sandstone paintings which will
be auctioned off at the Glasgow/
Fort Peck WU Banquet. Missouri
River Realty has committed
to donate a one-of-a-kind
sandstone painting by Connie on
an annual basis: an envy to the
rest of the WU banquets around
the state for sure! Connie likes to
snorkel in Fort Peck Reservoir,
and that is what inspired the
colors for this particular art piece.
“The water always looks green to
me,” she noted. The banquet is
this Saturday, April 6th. Raffles,
games and silent auctions will
begin at 4:30 with a walleye &
pulled pork dinner at 6:00. For
ticket information, please see ad
in today’s Buzz.
