Introduction
Fast Track to A1 and A2 includes twenty-four worksheets at the A1 level
and twenty-four worksheets at the A2 level of the Common European
Framework of Reference.
For easy reference, the scope and sequence at the beginning of each level
highlights the language and vocabulary covered on each worksheet.
Each worksheet offers a Learn about Language box that explains the
language point in simple terms, followed by a series of practice activities
designed to consolidate grammar and vocabulary. In this way, students can
work on the material autonomously if necessary. There is a complete answer
key at the back of the book for teacher reference.

Hi Nadia,
How was your weekend? I was on Vancouver Island on a camping trip
with my family. It was fantastic! The campsite was next to a beautiful
lake. There were lots of activities to do, like swimming, canoeing, and
horseback riding. There were sausages, burgers, and potatoes on the
campfire at night. Unfortunately, my cousin Sal couldn’t eat because
she was sick. We were between the mountains and the beach and it
was very cold at night! I was tired, but I couldn’t sleep because it was
so cold! I’m happy we’re back at home—it is warmer than the tent!

Land of Explorers
Robert O’Hara Burke and William John Wills were
the first European explorers to cross Australia
by land. They planned the trip because the
government wanted to find the best route for a
telegraph line across the country.
Burke and Wills left Melbourne on August 20, 1860,
with a group of people and with horses and camels
packed with supplies. They traveled north to the Gulf of Carpentaria and reached the
mouth of Flinders River on February 9, 1861. They didn’t get to the ocean because of
the terrain. So they decided to return south because they didn’t have enough supplies.
They killed and ate their camels. Aborigines helped them with food and water, but they
didn’t survive in the desert. They died at Cooper’s Creek in June, 1861, from exhaustion
and hunger.
