responsibilities more than important in the process of care taking because their role must

increase to their children. fun and positive activities are important in the development of

child psychology. the development of good psychology can be observed in the positive
thinking and harmonious family also sensitivity within the environment. parents should

involve themselves directly so that positive psychological developments can be

generated. the essence of attention, affection and communication not only from the

mother even from the father is also very important to influence the development children

in the future. (Widiyanti)

very good storyline. (Dita)

2. What is the Psycological deveploment being embeden in the book?

Centuries ago, child psychology was a completely foreign concept. During medieval

times, for instance, children were viewed as nothing more than small version of adult.

Today we know that childhood is very influential time in a person’s life. Event small,

seemingly insignificant ones-can have a direct impact on how we feel and behave as

adults. This book was cute it was a father spending the day with his girls, while mom

“rest up”. Dad’s psychological well-being impact his kids development. Every father has
a life-altering responsibility to take care of his own psychological well-being in order to

nurture and foster the well-being of his children. That father love and suport their kids

cognitive growth. Social skills, and language acquitition from toddlerhood to fifth grade.

In that book they making activities together to build a sense of closeness with their father

without mom, because every Monday until Friday their dad who always busy working

and their mom who take care of them. They look very happy and enjoy their time

togetherness. With the activities of playing together is one of the psychological factors of

children who help grow well. (Widiyanti)

The psychological development being embedden in the book if we look from the child’s

cyclical on the first page they are already see to have closeness with their parents. In the

third pages we can look the sister who love each other. That we should love animals also

because animals are creatures of God’s creation. The psychologicalwhich his father

instilled to discipline his pet dog while eating. In general a girl is indeed close to her

father, but in this story make a child have a close relationship with their father and make

them feel their father can also keep and take care of them as well as their mother. (Dita )

3. Is there any bias? Why? Elaborate your answer.

Not included biased, because from our point of view the story occurs on a holiday on

Saturday, where his father off work and all the duties of his wife and he who replaced it,

like getting up early, making breakfast with her children and playing together. It is seen

that the work of a wife can be done by a husband. The duties of a husband not only earn a

living to meet the needs of the family but also involved in the development of children,

such as teaching manners. Because the wife’s duties are numerous, the wife not only
takes care of everything than concerns about the child, the home and the family. So the

husband must help the wife in taking care of the children. (Veronika)

-Included biased, because in the story all the activities that should be done by the

husband. Like getting up carly, making breakfast for the kids and playing with the kids.

Letting his wife stay a sleep and the husband taking care of everything. The husband’s

duty is only to earn a living and all the housework can only be done by a wife. Because in

traditional rules a wife must take care of everythingin any case.

If the bias still follows the traditional rules in which a wife is required to do various

homework not biased because it has followed the development of an age where gender

equality has prevailed.

4.Does the book show any multicultural values ?

Yes,this book “It’s the Best Day Ever, Dad!” shows a multicultural values. Because, in

the story of this book show a husband who can replace his wife’s activities such as to

make breakfast for his children, makes pancakes, read story book for his children, teach his

children to love their pets like friends or family, teach his children to maintain health like

brushing teeth, and to keep the house clean like sweeping and mopping floor, teaches his

children to share food even with their dog, ”Darla” all activities on this day are done by

the husband and allowing his wife to rest without doing any activities. from the

sentence”After breakfast we quietly sneak out of the house. Daddy says Mom needs a day

to rest”.

In the story of the book “It’s the Best Day Ever, Dad!” there is no difference between of

husband and wife to take care and teach many things to their children, they are upper-

class families because they have a pet, able to buy good food for their children, able to

buy children’s play equipment, including families with good education because they use

good language and they have manners.from the sentence “At home daddy teaches violet

how to make Darla”sit and wait”before eating her food, I used to feed Darla, but Dad said

it was Violet’s turn to learn”. Page-8 (Nasiroh Safitri)

Because this book tells the life on the weekend of a family that is an American country.

So, I try to compare some differences and similarities of American culture with

Indonesian culture.

 The difference between American culture and Indonesian culture :

 Indonesia majority still adheres to a male-dominated culture while in the United

States gender equality is balanced in the field of domestic work between husband

and wife.

 Indonesian culture still a little father who wants to cook and keep his children.

 Usually the wife always wakes up earlier than her husband to prepare brakfast

and do other homework although on the weekend.

 In our country dogs just to keep the house. People who have pets are still a little

who let his pets into the house, sleeping in bed, sitting together watching

televition, cooking together, and eating together in one on the table.(Fitri)

 The same between American culture and Indonesian culture :

 Parents will teach their children to love each other.

 Parents teaches their children how to cook and how to do housework.

 Parents teaches their children to have good manners to them and other. (Iis)
Conclution :

In this story have multicultural values, because it does not distinguish gender between

Man and Women in house work and take care their of children. Husband and Wife work

together to keep and teach many things to the children, moreover do house work together.

So, in this story the role of parents between Husban and Wife is balanced and no one

dominates. Than they are happy family. (Iis&Fitri)
