Question
In ControlLogix Enhanced Redundancy, what's new in Revision 19.52/19.53?

Answer
Version 19.52 /19.53 is an Enhanced platform only. This means the higher performance redundancy module and communication modules are required. See the list below
for supported hardware:

Initial modules used in Standard platforms (1757-SRM, 1756-ENBT and 1756-CNB) still require the use of previous RSLogix 5000 software & firmware kits. Available
versions include:

16.5x
v15.6x
v13.7x
v11.7x
v8.5x

Redundant Chassis Hardware

When designing, installing, and operating the redundant chassis pair for the v19.52 enhanced redundancy system, you can use only the modules specified in the list
below:

1756-CN2, 1756-CN2R, 1756-CN2RXT

1756-EN2T, 1756-EN2TR, 1756-EN2TXT
1756-L61, 1756-L62, 1756-L63, 1756-L63XT, 1756-L64, 1756-L65
1756-L72, 1756-L73, 1756-L74, 1756-L75
1756-RM, 1756-RMXT

Keep in mind this hardware list only applies to components used in the redundant chassis pair, and not to components located outside the redundant chassis pair.

Firmware
The firmware major version for the 1756-RM, 1756-EN2T and 1756-EN2TR modules have incremented. This means the RSLinx Classic software may not recognize them
after flash updating. You can use RSLinx software to right-click the unrecognized module and select 'upload EDS file from device' or register the three EDS files attached
below.

Enhancements with the New Release

Support of the 1756-L7x Controllers.
You can use 1756-L4LXT chassis for the redundant chassis pair.
Support for Remote I/O modules over an EtherNet/IP network.
Optional DLR Ring topology support with 1756-EN2TR.

Restrictions
1756-CNB and 1756-ENBT modules are not supported in the redundant chassis pair. But can be used as adapters in Remote I/O racks.
You can place a maximum of two controllers in the same chassis in a redundant chassis pair.

When two controllers are used in the same chassis, they must be of the same product family. For example, you cannot place a 1756-L6x controller with a 1756-L7x
controller in the same chassis.
There are differences between using CIP Sync technology in non-redundant systems and enhanced redundancy systems, revision 19.52.
Do not use Match Project to Controller property with redundant controllers.
You cannot use the Firmware Supervisor feature available in RSLogix 5000 programming software.
You cannot use event tasks in a ControlLogix enhanced redundancy systems.
