Project # 1 : “Modal and Harmonic analysis of compressor disc in a gas turbine

system”
Software Used: Solid edge, Ansys workbench, Ansys CFX
Synopsis of the project

CFD analysis was performed using Ansys CFX to find operating loads acting on the
compressor disc blades, then static analysis was done to check the stress targets, and
modal analysis were performed by considering rotational and displacement boundary
condition, a single blade sector was considered through cyclic symmetry condition since
the displacement BC is same for entire bladed disc, to find natural frequencies and
mode shapes. Harmonic analysis (steady state response) was performed to find
behavior under dynamic (cyclic) loading. Campbell and SAFE diagram were used to find
true resonance conditions.

Project # 1: Strength and modal analysis of brake pedal

Project Descriptions: Two wheeler motor bike brake pedal stress analysis was
performed under normal/fatigue, limit and ultimate loads. Brake pedal was verified for
Fatigue life with scatter factor 3 using SN (stress life) approach. Component natural
frequencies are also computed. FE modeling was done using 2D quad elements,
components are connected using 3D penta elements as weld. All standard pre-
processor and post-processor FEM checks are performed.
Project # 2: Static strength and modal analysis of automotive exhaust of cold end
sub assembly.

Project Descriptions : Static strength analysis of exhaust cold end assembly

(Catalytic convertor, Muffler, Flanges, Pipes& Hanger brackets assembly) are carried
under 1g, bad road loads (5g- vertical, 3g- lateral,2g axial).Natural frequencies of of the
assembly is computed. FE modeling of most is carried out with 2D shell, Flange with 3D
Hexa and Hanger with CBUSH/3D HEXA elements. Results summary and conclusions
are documented in the PowerPoint.

Project # 3: FE modeling of BIW components.

Project Description: Finite element modeling of BIW components of car door like
dash and cowl, window rails etc. are modeled as per the client requirements. All the
standard FEM checks were ensured.
Project # 4: FE modeling of plastic components of automotive system.
Project Description: Finite element modeling of plastic components like seat backrest,
glove box, front fascia etc. are modeled as per the client requirements. All the Fem
checks were ensured. Setting up of Material/Property collectors according to
requirements (Nastran and ABAQUS).
Project # 5: FE modeling of Powertrain Components

Project Description: Finite element modeling of power train components like Engine
Block, Front Cover, cylinder head, intake and exhaust manifold, engine mounts , Oil
Pan, Chassis bundles etc and worked on reverse engineering projects using geo magic
CAD and STL data are modeled as per the client requirements. All the Fem checks
were ensured.

I hereby declare that all the details furnished above are true to the best of my
knowledge and belief.
