Attitude

For the category of Attitude of therapists towards VR, results show mean score
was 7.0061±1.7617. The result agrees with the study of Glegg, et. al. (2013), which
conducted a quantitative study which investigated the factors that influence physical
therapists in the adoption of VR for brain injury rehabilitation. Results showed the
physical therapists’ positive attitude, and perception towards VR had intentions to use it
often in the future. Moreover, this result supports the study carried out by Fung et al.
(2010),which investigated the perceptions of occupational therapists and
physiotherapists on the use of Nintendo Wii™ in rehabilitation. In this study, both
physical therapists and occupational therapists favored the use of Wii in rehabilitation as
an adjunct to traditional therapy because it is therapeutic, engaging, and may increase
patient participation in rehabilitation. This result implies that both therapists have
positive attitude towards VR.

2.4. Social Norms

Lastly, in this category, Social Norms show mean score of 4.9091±1.8450,

showing that most physical therapists were more aligned to disagree on the Social
Norms of VR systems in rehabilitation. This result supports the study carried out by
(Chau & Hu, 2001), in medical DTPB, social norms have little impact on the physician’s
behavioral intention to adopt virtual technology. Instead, the rely more on their
experience, not on the influence of their peers regarding on the use of telemedicine
technology. However, in the study of Glegg (2012), which determines the factors
affecting therapists on adoption of virtual reality in rehabilitation of acquired brain injury,
social norms held the strongest correlation with behavioral intention. Furthermore, it was
found that social norms achieved a Cronbach Alpha score of 0.869, implying that it has
high internal consistency, yet Social Norms was found to be the least researched in the
study by [ CITATION Gle12 \l 1033 ].
