Tasked with finding a reputable high-quality supplier of Chinese
herbal extracts I used my Chinese skills, cultural understanding and
international and Chinese domestic resources (Alibaba, WeChat,
Personal Contacts) to locate, communicate with and critically assess
the reliability of related Chinese companies and connect them with
the university. This resulted in the writing of a field study published
online and the creation of an ongoing partnership between the
university and a Chinese supplier.

Collaborating with the 5-star hotel’s training department I designed
short-course curriculum and trained employees which led to
invitations to return and train again another two times.

This was an expansion of my study and use of traditional Chinese
medicine theory and Origin Point massage into the small business
world. I co-managed a team of four people in the administering of
massage therapy and healthcare advice to clients as well as
undertaking the administering myself.

This degree included achievements of proficiency in Mandarin
Chinese pronunciation, tones, listening, speaking, reading and writing.
I also completed academic papers on Chinese philosophy, a field

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OR LEADERSHIP

Since 2007 I have frequently donated my time to teaching about

traditional Chinese culture throughout southern China, including
Guangxi, Jiangxi, Fujian and Taiwan as well as internationally in
Vietnam. Teaching topics have included Chinese philosophy and
traditional Chinese medicine with a primary focus on individual and
family health and harmony.
Since 2018, for the Dao and Confucian Culture-Education
Foundation in Taiwan I have been the head evaluator of teachers

aspiring to teach traditional Chinese culture throughout the world in
English. My duties are primarily evaluating and instructing on
Chinese philosophy, teaching methodologies, English language
learning and public speaking.
