You want to achieve an A.T.B.I.C.L.D.T.T.C.

(Almost There But I Cannot Learn Due To

The Circumstances) in Ice Skating, don’t you? Well, you’ve come to the right place!
Read the article to get your A.T.B.I.C.L.D.T.T.C.!

Have you ever sat at a park bench in winter, the snow as deep as your
despair and sadness at not being able to skate? If so, read on. You’re skateless days
have nearly come to an end (in theory, of course). Here’s how you skate and twist
on ice (with boots)!
First off, you want to be able to slide on ice fearlessly, so mentally prepare
yourself. If you are even thinking of skipping this step, don’t. It will cause the
downfall of you skating with boots career. Just calm yourself. Tell yourself the worst
thing that can happen is a couple broken bones. Think of 90 foot crashing waves to
help calm yourself. Invision yourself sliding.
Now that you’ve done that, go onto the ice and slide, just as you envisioned
it. Keep at that slide, no matter what. If someone sees you and criticizes you, don’t
listen. This slide is your life, this slide is you.
After you’ve nailed the slide, try a turn. Pick one foot up and fling it around in
a full circle. If you fall, you lose. Try again and again! If you get a bruise, so what?!
Get another one, as long as you get the turn with it! After you’ve nailed that turn,
do a slide with the turn at the end. Do that a few hundred times.
Now, for the leap. Jump, jump like the wind, jump like a toad, jump like you’ve
never jumped before! Now move that jump forward. You should be able to jump
about 2 ½ feet. You know the drill, do this several times. After you’ve got the leap
down absolutely perfectly, do a slide, turn, leap. If you get dizzy, do it again!!
Well, now you know how to skate with boots!
