If the Sharnel Woods Residents increase their use of fertilizers then the biodiversity of the Dike

will decrease.

Data was assessed twenty years apart at one location known as the dike. The following

data will be listed with the September 20th, 1994 sample first and the September 19th, 2014

second.

Physical parameters were recorded first. Temperature was 12°C and 7.7°C. Stream

velocity was 0.09 ft/s and 0.8 ft/s. Stream flow was 0.18 ft³/s and 3.71 ft³/s. Conductivity was

168 µmhos and 401µmhos. Dissolved oxygen levels were 8.7 mg/l and 11.6 mg/l (figure 1).

Chemical parameters were recorded next. Alkalinity was 40 mg/l and 13

mg/l. Measurement of pH was 7 and 7.5. Nitrite levels were 0.0 mg/l and 2.6 mg/l. Phosphate

levels were 0.8 mg/l and 0.6 mg/l. Ammonia level at 0.2 mg/l and 0.1 mg/l (Figure 2).

Biological parameters were recorded last. The SCI index of sample 1 was 0.87 and the

index of sample 2 was measured at 0.40 (Figure3).
