HYACINTH EXTRACT (EICHHORNIA CRASSIPES) TOWARDS
HISTOPHATOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE KIDNEY OF MICE (MUS
MUSCULUS) THE MALE STRAIN SWISS WEBSTER THAT INDUCED BY
ASPIRIN, Faculty of Medicine, University of Hang Tuah, Surabaya.
Aspirin contains acetyl salicylic acid and is one type of antiinfalamasi
(NSAIDs) are widely used in the treatment of mild to moderate pain. Aspirin is
used in excessive doses can cause nephrotoxic. Hyacinth contains alkaloids,
flavonoids, and polyphenols which are antioxidants. Antioxidants are
compounds capable of inhibiting the oxidation of other molecules.
This study is an experimental laboratory post test group design with the aim of
knowing the effect of extracts of water hyacinth and also the effect of
increasing doses of hyacinth against renal cell mice that had previously been
induced to give effect toksiksitas aspirin. This research was conducted in the
laboratory of the University of Widya Mandala Surabaya pharmacy began in
August 2016 and November 2016.
The results showed a significant reduction in the group of mice given the
extract of water hyacinth, and also a significant reduction in the group of mice
given the extract hyacinth with increased dose hyacinth larger. This is due to
the antioxidant content of the water hyacinth.
In conclusion hyacinth extract can reduce the damage to the kidney cells of
mice induced dose aspirin and improvement of water hyacinth extract may
enhance
the effects of protection against renal cell damage in mice.
