Stop Bullying At School

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves
a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be
repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious,
lasting problems.

In article 1 entitled ‘School Bullying’ from The Star newspaper, bullying is when a
person’s behaviour is purposely meant to harm or disturb another person. Bullying is actual
hurtful behaviour directed by more powerful individuals or groups against those who are less
powerful. Here I would like add that there are many types of bullying that obviously happen
in school areas such as financial bullying and cyber bullying. Students who always be alone
will become the victim of bullying. We have think why the students become very lonely. The
primary reason is their parents are not giving them much important. So that, students
become very lonely same as how they be in their home. When the students be in such
situation, they can’t defend themselves and become less popular between their friends. This
makes the others to bully them as easy as possible.

In article 2 entitled ‘The Problem of Bullying in Schools’ from internet, Victims of

bullying suffer consequences beyond embarrassment. Some victims experience
psychological or physical distress, are frequently absent and cannot concentrate on
schoolwork. This is one of the effect in bullying. Moreover in my view, bullying can lead to
low self-esteem, as well as depression and other problems. Victims who are bullied
experienced incensement in sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns
and loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy.

Furthermore, I chose an article entitled ‘Prevent Bullying at School’ from a book

named Bullying at school and online. In the article, parents should talk with and listen to their
kids; spend time with them and spread the word that bullying should not be a normal part of
childhood. Preventing is better be done before it make the situation worst. My suggestions
are not only parents, teachers also should educate school students by organise a training in
emotional control to motivate the students from being a victim. Teachers also can give peer
counseling to the students who bullied by other immoral students.

As a conclusion, bullying is very dangerous to people of all ages, especially school

students and isn’t acceptable ever. This is why we should never allow ourself to be bullied,
or just stand by and watch a peer be bullied for any reason. Bullying is everyone’s problem;
therefore everyone has to be part of the solution.
