GUIDELINE FOR LAB REPORT

1) Introduction (4Marks)
a) Objectives
b) Comprise questions included in the lab manual (if have)
b) Hypothesis based on research & must be testable
c) Correct title

2) Materials (1Mark)
Write materials you used in the experiment (including all modifications done during
lab).

3) Methods (1Mark)
Write the methods in lab report (including all modifications done during lab). Come to lab
prepared and understand about the procedures because there is NO TIME to read the lab
manual during experiment time

4) Results (4Marks)
a) Clearly recorded (Quantitative data: Correct and organized calculation, mean, standard
deviation; Qualitative data: As per requirement and record all the observations)
b) Organized for easy readers to detect the trends
d) Include all label information

5) Discussion (4 Marks)
a) Analyze data/observation accurately
b) Reasonable explanation on results
c) Trends are noted
d) Enough data to draw conclusion

6) Conclusion (3Marks)
a) Summarize essential data to draw conclusion
b) Conclusion must follow data
c) Discuss applications of experiments
d) Hypothesis is accepted or rejected based on the data.

7) Answer the questions included in the lab manual. (1 Mark)

8) References (1 Mark)
a) Not from Wikipedia
b) Must be from reliable sources

9) Format (1 Mark)

a) Neat and organized


b) Few spelling/grammar mistakes
