Air India Offers and Schemes

Each Air India employee is a brand ambassador of the company and can contribute by sharing
various offers, discounts, benefits in his / her own social circle that may help friends and relatives
to choose Air India.

A brief description of current offers is as following:

(1) Higher Free Baggage Allowance: Carry more bags, not worries!

- 25 Kg Baggage allowance on domestic flights on all fare levels (most other airlines offer 15
Kg). On Alliance Air flights operated by CRJ and ATR aircraft, baggage allowance is 15 kg due
to smaller aircraft size. Infant passengers are also given 10 Kg.

- Two piece baggage (each 23 kg) to Europe and USA

(2) Get Up Front: Upgrade offer at airport - Low on cost, high on privileges!

- An Economy class passenger can upgrade to Business class and a Business class passenger
can upgrade to First class at the airport by paying a fixed amount, subject to availability of a
seat. It is on First Come First Served basis.

- A passenger pays less money and enjoys a host of privileges that include Priority Check in,
Priority Security check, Priority Immigration check, Lounge, Priority Boarding / Disembarking,
Seat comfort, Meal choice etc.

- Domestic Upgrade – Rs.4500 (up to 750 Km) / Rs.6000 (above 750 Km) –all inclusive cost
- International Upgrade – Depending on sector, e.g. USD 900 to US, USD 500 to Europe etc.

(3) Companion Free Offer: One plus one free, oh what a Happy Journey!

- International – For travel ex India, offer available on all international sectors except SAARC
countries. First, Business and Economy class passengers paying IATA Full fare can avail the
offer. Only taxes to be paid on the companion’s ticket. Spouse, children, parents (brothers,
sisters if a pax is single or childless) qualify as companion. Both passengers must travel
together on the outbound sector. Offer valid till 30 September 2017.

- Domestic – For travel to / from Non-Metro sectors only. First and Business class passengers
paying fare (of any fare class of their cabin) can avail the offer. Only taxes to be paid on the
companion’s ticket. Any adult / child pax can be a companion. Both pax must travel
together on the entire journey. Offer valid till 31 May 2017.
(4) Special Fares (Matching Rajdhani 2nd AC Fares): On Rail Fare, Travel by Air!

- On select domestic routes, Air India offers Special Fares matching Rajdhani 2nd AC fares for
travel in Economy class. Booking has to be made at least 20 days in advance. All inclusive
Fares range from minimum of Rs.1080 (Delhi/Jaipur) to maximum of Rs.4730
(Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram). Special fares are offered on 24 city pairs.

- Tickets on Special Fares can be bought up to 10 April 2017. Travel validity is till 30 April 2017.

- Some passengers on these flights will enjoy a double whammy as Air India will also be
conducting Lucky Draws on some select flights every week. The winners will get a free, 2-
coupon return ticket in Economy class to travel on any Air India domestic sector ( with
exception of Alliance Air flights, code share flights and a few sectors viz. Delhi/Kochi,
Delhi/Portblair, Delhi/Leh and Delhi/Thiruvananthapam).

(5) Fly For Sure Offer: Flight change facility - no fare difference, no penalty!

- Passengers travelling in Business or Economy class on domestic sectors can prepone or


postpone their travel one time, to another flight on the same sector on the same date
without paying change penalty or any difference of fare. To ensure this peace of mind, they
have to pay an all inclusive nominal fee of Rs.2000 per sector at the time of purchase of
ticket. Point of sale is Air India city office, airport office or call centre.

- This offer is not valid on Alliance Air and Code Share flights, on redemption / award tickets,
for pax travelling in group or for unaccompanied minors.

(6) Preferred Seat Selection: Stress to Beat? Select a seat!


- Air India is alive to the needs of many passengers who prefer a seat with extra legroom for a
more comfortable flight, for conveniently getting up and sitting down during the flight and
getting lined up for early disembarkation at the destination. And who don’t mind to pay a
little extra for this privilege. On the entire network of Air India, a passenger can now pay a
small fixed amount in advance and select a seat of his / her choice out of the designated
premium seats in first row or emergency row. Each aircraft type has different rows and
number of seats that fall under the ‘Preferred Seat’ category.

- A preferred seat can be booked and paid for through Air India city booking office, airport
ticketing office and call centre.

- Preferred Seat Charge on Domestic Flights – INR 500

- Preferred Seat Charge on International Flights ex India– INR 3500 (USA), INR 3000(UK,
Europe, Australia, Far East), INR 2500 (Seoul), INR 2000 (Shanghai, Moscow), INR 1800 (Hong
Kong), INR 1500 (Singapore, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar), INR1250 (Bahrain),INR 1200
(Bangkok), INR 1000 (UAE, Muscat, Colombo(ex Delhi), Kabul), INR 500 (Colombo (ex
Chennai), Dhaka, Kathmandu)
(7) Discounted Fares on Air India Website and Mobile App: Net-net, you save!

- For a person buying a ticket on Air India website or through its Mobile App, Air India offers
attractive discounts on Base Fare:
- Domestic sectors First / Business - 20%
Economy - 10% (Not applicable in T, S. E Fare classes)
- International sectors First/Business/Economy – 5%
- Sale validity: 30 April 2017

(8) e Super Saver: Do your pocket a favour, buy an ‘e Super Saver’!


- e Super Saver is an attractively priced booklet of multiple coupons. Each coupon is valid for
flying one sector without change of aircraft. E Super Saver can be purchased Online through
Air India website www.airindia.in only. An e Super Saver booklet has to be redeemed /
exchanged to an e- ticket.

e Super Saver Domestic:

e Super Saver for travel within India comes in two variations:

1. Multi User Booklet – 10 coupons – Each coupon can be used by a different person
2. Single User Booklet – 04/08/12 coupons – Only one single person must use all coupons

Multi User Booklet - Air India offers Multi user E Super Saver as following:

Business class – 10 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.80,000/- (for a flight up to750 Km distance)
10 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.150,000/- (Any Domestic sector)
- Validity 365 days for booklets purchased between 16 Mar’17 – 30 Apr’17

Economy class – 10 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.40,000/- (for a flight up to750 Km distance)
10 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.55,000/- (Any Domestic sector)

Multi User e Super Saver booklet is available for purchase from 16March 2017 to 30 April 2017 with
one year validity. A person must book a seat at least a week before travel.

Single User Booklet - Air India offers Single user E Super Saver as following:
Business class – 04 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.44,000/- (for a flight up to750 Km distance)
04 coupons - all inclusive fare of Rs.88,000/- (Any Domestic sector)
- Validity – 180 days from the date of issue of an e Super Saver booklet

up to750 Km distance)

A 4-coupon booklet has to be used twice for return travel on the chosen sector e.g.
Mumbai/Singapore/Mumbai once and then again Mumbai/Singapore/Mumbai. Travel must
commence from an Indian station and not from Singapore or Bangkok. Station of origin on the
outbound and the destination on the inbound leg have to be same, e.g. Delhi/Bangkok/Delhi.

(9) Discover India: A ticket to travel all-around, to explore, to see, to get astound!

- As the name suggests, ‘Discover India’ is an offer especially tailored for Foreign nationals,
Persons of Indian Origin and Non Resident Indians to assist them travel to various places in
India on a multi-coupon single ticket to explore the idyllic beauty and charms of India - its
history, its heritage, its culture, its architecture, its festivals and more.

- Discover India is a single user Economy class ticket that comes in two variants:
 5-coupon ticket priced @ Rs.32,500. Applicable taxes extra (validity - 15 days).
 10-coupon ticket priced @ Rs.60,000. Applicable taxes extra (validity - 30 days).

- All types of journeys like one way, round trip, circle trip etc. are permitted on a Discover
India ticket. Repeat travel to a station is not permitted except for the purpose of a transfer
or connection. Back tracking is also not permitted.

(10) Buddhist Trail Air Pass: Travel Air India for Journey Within!
- It is an offer to travel across India, Myanmar and Sri Lanka to visit places of Buddhist
interest. Journey is in Economy class and has to commence either from Yangon or
Colombo. Buddhist Trail Air Pass is not valid for groups. Following options are available:

(11) Group Bookings: Group Budget is tight? Take an Air India flight!

(13) Flying Returns (Frequent Flyer Programme): As you fly more, Earn Award Tickets Galore!
- Air India’s frequent flyer programme, ‘Flying Returns’ is the first airline loyalty programme in
India and amongst the most rewarding programmes in this region.

- Each time a FFP member flies on Air India or any of 27 Star Alliance partner airlines across
190 countries and 1300 airports, one earns FR points. On higher fares such as in Business /
First class, a member earns Bonus FR points. These accumulated FR points can then be used
to redeem Award Tickets on Air India or other Star Alliance carriers and to purchase an
upgrade to higher cabin.

- Flying Returns has multiple tiers - Base Membership, Silver Edge Club, Golden Edge Club, The
Maharajah Club. Membership to a higher tier is dependent on the status points accrued.

- Besides the redemption of FR points for award tickets and upgrades, other privileges include
higher baggage allowance, access to more than 1000 lounges across the world, bonus points
etc.

- Membership to Flying Returns is open from 2 years and above. Members between 2 and 12
years of age are referred to as Child FR Members.

(14) Air India Maharaja Scholar Offer 2017: Heading abroad to study? Go loaded, oh buddy!

Students travelling abroad on a Student Visa are allowed Free Additional Baggage Allowance by Air
India in both ‘piece concept’ and ‘weight concept’, depending upon the sector of travel.

- Piece concept: one additional piece of baggage weighing 23 Kg is offered to the following
destinations: New York, Newark, Chicago, Toronto (on Air India/Air Canada code share flight)
London, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Madrid, Moscow, Osaka, Tokyo.

- Additional piece of baggage to interior points in US, UK and Europe is permitted on specific
flights / via specific stations.

- Weight Concept- Free additional baggage allowance of maximum 20 kg is offered to the


following destinations: Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Sydney, Melbourne

- Students flying in Business class are entitled to one additional pc of baggage (23 kg) on
‘piece concept’ sectors and additional 10 kg of baggage allowance on ‘weight concept’
sectors, over and above Business class baggage entitlement for their travel.

- Students availing Maharajah Scholar Offer are given complimentary FFP Membership and
1000 bonus FR points on enrolment.

- Maharaja Scholar offer is valid for sale and travel till 30 September 2017.
(15) Air India – State Bank of India Co Brand Cards: Higher Reward Points make a Point!
There are two variants of Air India SBI co-brand cards – Signature Card and Platinum Card.
The co-brand cards are highly suitable for Air India frequent flyers; as the card spends at Air India
sales channels earn higher reward points. Handsome bonus reward points accrue on the annual
retail spends. A cardholder can also exchange reward points to FR points and thus earn free tickets
faster.
