Kuesel tells humorous stories about growing up on the farm, driving tractor, and livestock situations while presenting a funny yet | | fs A Raffle Ticket Could Buy One Homemade Quilt Done by TCS 7th Graders With the Thorp Catholic Schoo!’s Annual Winter Fest coming up on Saturday, January 29, the local school is coming together to get raffle items lined up. The seventh grade clase, taught by Jessica Ciolkosz, came up with the idea to create something that the whole school could be part of all the while benefiting the financial situation of the school, and they collectively came up with the idea of creating a homemade guilt. The seventh grade class had each class at TCS choose two fabrics to represent them on the quilt—turning the quilt into a vibrant and colorful masterpiece. Along with each representing pattem are two oxtra squares—one representing the staff and the other, the solid blue blocks, symbolizing the color that used to signify TCS years ago. The green back of the quilt also includes a key, letting the soon-to-be owner know which print belongs to each room. ‘The seventh grade class discussed the design, agreed on a pattem, and began working on the quilt, They learned how to iron, use 4 measuring mat and rotary cutter, use @ sewing machine, and even ‘occasionally working with a seam ripper. The students cut and sewed 180 squares for the’top of the quilt, making it a true class project. 3 “The students really enjoyed this project,” commented Ciolkosz. “A lot of work, concentration, learning, and love went into this quilt, and it was amazing to watch. The students really did an excellent job.
