Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

 Perform detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on basic engineering tasks.

 Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and
mentoring.

 Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and
procedures.

 Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-
discipline requirements.

 Prepare sketches of detail design to guide Designers.

 Review MTOs for requisitions.

 Check drawings.

 Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns.

 Develop an awareness of costs related to own work.

 Develop basic understanding of MDR's business and customers it serves.

 Develop basic knowledge of MDR's business units and interactions including engineering,
fabrication, and marine functions.

 Develop advanced skills in use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.

 Become familiar with P&IDs, Line List, Equipment Layouts, Piping Specifications and Design
Basis.
 Assist in preparing Piping Items List and required datasheets.

 Assist in preparing Piping Material and Valve specification.

 Become familiar with fundamentals and Code requirements of Pipe Stress Calculations.

 Become familiar with modelling in pipe Stress Analysis program (Caesar II or any other project
approved software) and assist in simple pipe stress analyses.

 Assist in performing design calculations such as pipe wall thickness, reinforcement pad, trunnion
support, external pressure, etc.

 Assist in preparing Material Requisitions, Technical Queries, Technical Bid Evaluations and
Purchase Requisitions of Engineered Piping Equipment including Valves, SP Items, Piping
Bulks, Spring supports, Access fittings, etc.

 Review and assist in checking that Vendor Documents and Drawings comply with Project
requirements.

 Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others.

 Clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking for understanding.

Basic Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in similar Engineering field.

 Entry-level position, or less than 3 years’ experience in oil and gas.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

 Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of professional engineering society.
