Activity
Investigation
Homework
Directions:
1. You and a partner will choose TWO categories to work on this week. (Contract required)
2. For each category, you must complete all of the assignments (activity, investigations,
and homework).
3. You may work at your own pace, but you will be held accountable for knowing the
information. There will be a check-point quiz each day.
4. All assignments must be completed by THURSDAY (11/4/10)! Along with your book
work, you must also include the following from each activity:
a. Raw data (your observation notes)
b. Function rule (What does “a” mean in the context? What does “b” mean in the
context?)
c. Now-Next rule (including starting point)
d. Table
e. Graph (clearly labeled)
f. Summary (What did the assignment require you to do? What are some
interesting things that you found during your experiments/investigations? Why
does an exponential rule model the data best? What have you learned about the
relevancy of math to your topic?) This must be at least one page.
g. End product (poster board, PowerPoint, etc.) You will need to present your
findings and be able to teach the class about your topic. Your presentation must
be ready by MONDAY (11/8/10)! This means that if you don’t finish everything
in class, you must work with your partner after school or over the weekend!

YOU MUST MEET THE DEADLINE!!! NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE GIVEN!!! DO NOT RISK BEING FIRED!!!
