Revised Criteria for Scholarship for M.Tech./Dual degree/Integrated M.Tech. students

The 47th Finance Committee Meeting held on 16th May 2016 has approved the Revised Criteria
for M.Tech. Scholarship for students admitted through GATE. The same has been approved by
the Executive Board in its 172nd meeting held on 17th May 2016. The details are given below:

1. The Assistantship will be awarded in the first instance on the basis of GATE score for
M.Tech students, and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of >8.0 after 8th
Semester for Dual degree/Integrated M.Tech. Students.
2. The students are required to provide teaching assistance of 8 hours/week.
3. The continuation of the Assistantship during each semester is contingent upon
Academic performance.
4. Assistantship will be stopped due to poor academic performance.
5. A minimum Semester Grade Point Average of 7.0 on a scale of 10 (SGPA of 6.75 for
SC/ST/PH) is required.
6. The scholarship will be resumed once SGPA requirement is attained.
7. Arrears will not be paid for the stopped period.
8. Maximum duration of scholarship is 4 Semesters for M Tech and 14 months for Dual
Degree / Integrated students.

These revised rules are effective from 01.12.2014 and supersede the earlier notification which
had typographic errors.
