My Favourite Song Project

In this Project you will work with one of your favourite songs. First of all, find
the lyrics of the song and bring them to class.

Introduction: Working with the lyrics (lyrics should not be too easy)

Write about:

1) Why you like this song?

2) Why you chose this group / singer and what makes them special.

3) Your opinion about the group / singer.

Facts:

4) Search for information about the singer / group of the song you have
chosen. Who is he / she (or they). For example: history, group members, cds,
videos, concerts, etc.

5) Search for information about the song. When was it written? Who sings it?
What does it sound like? (upbeat, slow, melodic, etc.)

Analyse:

6) Try to figure out what the song is about. Give examples from the text and
remember that your thoughts about it can never be wrong! Here are a few
questions to help you get started:

What happens in the song?

Why do you think the song was written?

What does the singer / group want to say?

7) Pick out the most poetic / beautiful line in your song. Why is it the most
poetic / beautiful?

 Design a poster that best illustrates your song and present your
analysis to the class.
