SUBJECT : Preparation for Typhoon “Ompong” (Intl. Name: “Mangkhut”)

In preparation for the possible effects of Typhoon “Ompong” to the Municipality of Gubat and in
order to ensure disaster risk reduction and to achieve zero casualty, the following are hereby
ordered:

1. Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs) are

advised to closely monitor above-named weather disturbance. You are advised to put on
standby your respective contingency and preparedness plans for possible implementation,
especially preemptive and/or forced evacuation measures for residents living in storm
surge and flood prone areas. Close coordination with MDRRMC, MDRRMO and other
concerned agencies must be established;
2. “No sailing, no fishing policy” must be strictly implemented. All fisherfolks and other
sea-going entities are prohibited to venture out to sea starting today;
3. All residents, specially those near high risk zones such as coastal areas exposed to storm
surge and areas prone to flooding and landslide, are advised to take preparedness actions
within their respective households and follow the advice of their respective BDRRMCs;
4. Everybody must closely monitor all weather bulletins issued by PAGASA through
diverse mass media (radio, television, internet and others).
