growing our own food and eating locally and in-season.
• Eating locally means consuming produce that is grown close to
your home.
• When you buy food that is grown locally, you’re also supporting
your own communinty.

• PROBLEM: Hundreds of different food crops are raised in the
Central Valley, but the Central Valley has little access to the fruits
of their own area. 12 food deserts in the Fresno County.
• Food desert: lack of access of fresh produce (no chemicals and
picked within a timely manner.)
• SOLUTION: Food Common Fresno created OOOOBY produce
boxes, surveys of areas that are food deserts to bring farm’s
markets.
