Unpacking
Although your IM-300/IMS-300/IMC-300/IMD-300 is neither complicated nor difficult to operate, we
recommend you take a few minutes to read this brief manual and familiarize yourself with the important
information regarding product features, setup and operation.

As with most electronic devices, we strongly recommend you retain the original packaging. In the unlikely event
the product must be returned for servicing, the original packaging (or reasonable equivalent) is required.

Installation
Environment
Never place this product in an environment which could alter its performance or reduce its service life. Such
environments usually include high levels of heat, dust, moisture, and vibration.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus.
When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.

Outline
This product is convenient to progress middle/large conference and provides various convenient functions for
smooth progress of meeting. Especially, reservation by digital communication, speaking time setting and release
and display, Free Mode, emergent reservation, volume control and other various functions are provided for
meeting. Up to 250 MIC units can be expanded, and various cables are prepared for various installation space.
These products consist of 4 total models and features of respective model are as follow:

Front Panel (IM-300)

1. HANDLE
A handle is designed to install or easily handle this unit on the racks.

2. POWER SWITCH
This is a switch to supply power. Pressing this switch enables the VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display) to
display ‘MIC INITIAL’ for about 10 seconds and indicate mic numbers connected and operate the unit.

3. USB JACK
This is a jack to record contents of conference in MP3 file. Pressing the recording button which is No.9 of the
front panel after connecting USB memory enables to start saving. In ending Save File, remove USB memory
after pressing the recording button once again. Where saving capacity of USB memory is 1Gbyte, the unit
can save memory for 20 hours at the bit rate of 128Kbit.

4. VFD (VACUUM FLUORESCENT DISPLAY) DISPLAY WINDOW


This is a window to display current progresses and status of the equipment system for meeting. Items that the
VFD displays include operation mode (free speaking and reservation mode), person numbers waiting for
reservation, emergent speaking request, continued speaking time, USB recording, input signal level and
main volume level.

5. MODE BUTTON
This is a mode to select person numbers to speaking and Reverse Mode and Free Mode are cyclic whenever
pressing the button.
- Reserve Mode: A person with relevant number by reservation.
- FREE Mode: All participants can speak.

6. ALL CLEAR BUTTON


This is a switch to cancel speaking of all persons to speaking and reserve speaking irrespective of modes of
No. 5 Mode button of the front panel.

7. 1 CLEAR BUTTON
Pressing this button for setting Reserve Mode enables to cancel speaking of the current speaker and allow
speaking of the next reserved speaker.

※ You can turn off the IMC-300 Chairman mic using this button when mic continues to turn on even after
ending speaking at the IMC-300 Chairman mic. Pressing and holdinhg this switch for 1.5 sec enables to
turn off the IMC-300 Chairman mic. The Chairman Mic Ring LED and speaking display LED flicker 3 times
and turn off.
※ Caution: Take care since the 1 Clear (cancel of current speaker) operates if pressing this button with the
IMC-300 Chairman Mic Off.

8. TIME SET BUTTON


This is a button used to setup speaking time, which is set to the order of 1MIN → 2 MIN → 3 MIN → 5 MIN
→ OPEN whenever pressing this button. Mic LED flickers before setup time is exceeded, and the next
subscriber’s mic operates so that speaking is done. Speaking time restricting operation is done only in the
Reverse Operation Mode.

9. RECORDING BUTTON
This is a button to start and end for recording meeting minutes. Saving of meeting minutes at a MP3 file
starts if pressing this button after inserting USB memory into the No.3 USB jack of the front panel. If pressing
this button, ‘REC COMPLETE’ is displayed on the VFD and saving is ended if pressing it once again.

10. CHIME BUTTON


This is a chime bell operation button to inform meeting start/meeting suspension/meeting end. Chime bell
sound is output whenever pressing this button. Chime bell sound does not operate during recording of USB
memory.

11. LINE/AUX LEVEL CONTROLLER


This is a volume to adjust the level of Line Input and AUX Input attached to the rear panel.

12. TONE CONTROLLER (BASS/MID/TREBLE TONE)


This is a volume to adjust tone such as BASS/MID/TREBLE of the signal which is output to the mic unit
speaker. You can adjust and use desiring tone.

13. MONITOR SPEAKER LEVEL CONTROLLER


This is a volume to control the level of the monitor speaker on the front panel.

14. MAIN VOLUME AND LED


This is a main signal control volume and display according to setting level of main volume.

15. MONITOR SPEAKER


This is a monitor speaker to monitor mic operation status.

1. HANDLE

This is a LED to indicate Power On/Off, and lights up if power is supplied. IMS-300 is connected to IM-300

1. EARPHONE JACK
You can listen to sound output by earphone with 3.5mm jack. Sound of the speaker is interrupted in using
the earphone jack.

2. T-PAD CONNECTING CABLE


This is a T-PAD connecting cable to simply expand and connect a mic unit. Numbers of mic to connect to the
maximum are 30pcs.
* For expanding the mic unit, connect connecting cable 1 to the T-PAD of the mic unit to be added.
* Connecting cable 1 (length:2M, D-SUB 15P MALE, D-SUB 15P FEMALE) is basic specification, and is
provided in the mic unit (IMC/IMD-300). Since this cable is only for this purpose, please use only cables
provided.

3. VOLUME CONTROL BUTTON


This is a button to adjust volume of the whole mic unit by adjusting main volume of the IM-300(Main
Controller).

4. ALL CLEAR BUTTON


This is a button to cancel speaking of all speakers and subscribers.

5. TIME SET BUTTON


This is a button with function to setup speaking time and is set to the order of 1MIN → 2 MIN → 3 MIN → 5
MIN whenever pressing this button. The relevant mic turns off after LED flickers, and then the mic of the next
subscriber operates so that speaking is permitted. Speaking time is only done in the Reserve Operation
Mode.

6. TIME CLEAR BUTTON


If pressing the Time Clear button, you can release speaking time. The delegate unit of IMD-300(Delegate
Unit) is usable without restricting speaking time.

7. 1 CLEAR KEY
This is a button to cancel the current speaker’s speaking right in the Reverse Operation Mode (speaking by
reservation order), and to allow speaking of the next subscriber.

8. SPEAKER VOLUME CONTROL BUTTON


This is a rotary switch to adjust speaker level which is included in the mic unit. Volume can be adjusted to
three steps of (LOW/MID/HIGH).

9. LCD DISPLAY WINDOW


This is a window to represent current operation and status of IMC-300. Displayed contents include spoken
time or remained time of delegate unit, IMD-300, announcement of the chairman’s speaking (CH) and
emergent speaking (EDC) announcement.

10. GOOSENECK MIC


This is a Gooseneck Mic equipped with Electret Condenser Mic with high sensitivity and excellent orientation
capacity.

11. MONITOR SPEAKER


A high sound quality of monitor speaker is equipped with to listen to a speaker’s speech.

12. SPEAKING DISPLAY LED


If a mic operates, a red LED turns on to indicate that speaking is done.

13. CHIME BUTTON


This is a Chime Bell operation button to inform meeting start/meeting suspension/meeting end. Chime bell
sounds whenever pressing this button.
※ Chime bell does not operate during recording via USB memory.

14. PTT (PUSH TO TALK) BUTTON


This is a button to start or end speaking from the delegate unit, IMC-300(Chairman Unit).
- RESERVE MODE : The chairman can speak even during the delegate's speaking. The delegate can speak after
the chairman ends speaking by pressing the PTT key once again. You cannot speak by using
the delegate unit of IMD-300 in IMC-300 the speaking status.
- FREE MODE : Speaking is immediately done by pressing the button. Pressing the button once again during
speech enables to end speaking. You can speak by using the delegate unit of IMD-300 in the
IMC-300 speaking status.

15. PTT (PUSH TO TALK)/RESERVATION BUTTON


For the Free mode, speaking is immediately done by pressing the button. Pressing the button once again during
speech enables to end speaking. In the Reserve Mode, this is used to apply reservation or end speaking. In
application of reservation, reservation number is displayed on the LCD of the relevant delegate mic unit.
Reservation is automatically set to the order that the delegate presses, and up to 250 numbers are reserved.

16. EDC (EMERGENT DEMAND CALL)


This is a button to call emergent speaking in the delegate unit of IMD-300. Emergent speaking function is
used for emergent proposal or speaking in the course of meeting where there are persons waiting for
reservation in the front of the delegate. If pressing the EDC key, the call is delivered to only the chairman. So
speaking right is given to only the delegate who calls for urgent speaking even where there are speakers and
persons waiting for reservation. If speaking of the delegate who calls for urgent speaking is ended, mic is
automatically connected to the original speaker for progress. The chairman may reject urgent speaking if he
or she deems it unnecessary. Urgent speaking operates only in the Reserve Operation Mode.

17. RESERVATION CANCELLATION BUTTON (IMD-300)


This is a button to cancel reservation from the delegate unit of IMD-300.

18. WIND SCREEN


This screen is used to shield ambient noise and protect the Condenser Mic Unit.

19. RING LED


Ring LED displays status of mic.
- OFF: MIC Off - ON : MIC On
- Flickering:
Case 1: Displays that speaking time does not remain so much from the IMD-300 mic while speaking is
currently done.
Case 2: Displays that reservation is done following the IMD-300 mic while speaking is currently done.
Case 3: Flickers 3 times when forcedly turning off IMC-300 mic.

20. FLEXIBLE
You can conveniently adjust and use mic up or down.

1. IMC-300 (CHAIRMAN) CONNECTOR


This is a D-SUB 15P Female Connector for connecting chairman mic by using connecting cable 1. Up to
30pcs of mic unit (IMC-300: 1pc, IMD-300: 29pcs) can be additionally connected.
* Connecting cable 1 (Length: 2M, D-SUB 15P MALE, D-SUB 15P FEMALE) is basic specification and is
provided in the mic unit (IMC/IMD-300). Since this cable is designed only for this purpose, please use
included cable provided.

2. CONNECTOR FOR EXPANDING SUB-AMP


This is a D-SUB 15P Female Connector for expanding or is used for connecting amplifiers, which connects
the unit to the sub-amplifier, IMS-300 of the IM-300(Main Controller) using connecting cable 2.
* Connecting cable 2 (Length: 2M, D-SUB MALE, D-SUB MALE) is basic specification and is provided in the
IMS-300 (sub-amplifier). Since this cable is designed only for this purpose, please use included cable
provided. About cables refer to the 16 page.

3. AUX IN/OUT
This is an AUX Unbalanced I/O jack with line level used for connecting outer sound source equipment.

4. LINE INPUT
This is a Balanced XLR input jack used for connecting outer sound source equipment.

5. RS-232C JACK
This is a control port for using a remote control device such as AMX/CRESTRON control system and its pin
specification and controllable operation specification are as follows (maximum cable length is about 15m).

6. MIC INPUT AND LEVEL CONTROLLER


This is an unbalanced mic connection input jack and level adjusting volume of outer mics.

7. LINE OUT AND LEVEL CONTROLLER


This is a balanced signal output jack and level adjusting volume used for connecting to the outer equipment.

8. AC INLET (AC POWER INPUT)


This is a power cord connecting jack. Available power supply is for AC 220~240V 50/60Hz.

1. IMD-300 (DELEGATE UNIT) CONNECTOR


This is a D-SUB 15P Female Connector for connecting the delegate mic unit, IMD-300 by using connecting
cable 1. Up to 30pcs of IMD-300 mic unit can be additionally connected.
* Connecting cable 1 (Length: 2M, D-SUB MALE, D-SUB FEMALE) is basic specification and is provided in
the mic unit (IMC/IMD-300). Since this cable is designed only for this purpose, please use included cable
provided.

2. LINK IN CONNECTOR
This is a D-SUB 15P Female Connector, which connects the unit to the sub-amplifier expansion connector or
the Link Out of IM-300 or link output of former IMS-300 using connecting cable 2.
* Connecting cable 2 (Length: 2M, D-SUB MALE, D-SUB MALE) is basic specification and is provided in the
IMS-300 (sub-amplifier). Please use included cable provided. About cables refer to the 16 page.

3. LINK OUT CONNECTOR


This is a D-SUB 15P Female Connector, which connects the unit to the sub-amplifier expansion connector or
the Link In of IMS-300 (sub-amplifier) using connecting cable 2.
* Connecting cable 2 (Length: 2M, D-SUB MALE, D-SUB MALE) is basic specification and is provided in the
IMS-300 (sub-amplifier). Please use included cable provided.

4. AC INLET (AC POWER INPUT)


This is a power cord connecting jack. Available power is for AC 220~230V 50/60Hz.

How to use IMD-300 reservation and emergent speaking function


1. IMD-300 (Delegate Unit) reservation application/cancellation
For the Free operation mode, speaking is available by pressing PTT from the delegate unit of IMD-
300(Delegate Unit). Pressing it again during speaking enables to end speaking. For the Reserve operation
mode, press the Reserve button from the delegate unit of IMD-300(Delegate Unit) for reservation application.
Reservation is automatically setup to the order that the delegate presses, and the order is displayed on the
LCD. To cancel reservation, press the Cancel button.

2. IMD-300 (Delegate Unit) emergent speaking application/cancellation


Pressing the emergent speaking switch from the delegate unit IMD-300 in the Reverse Operation Mode
enables to receive entitle the speaking right. Approval and cancellation of the chairman are as follow:
※ Calling of emergent speaking is permitted to only a person who firstly requests.
- If becoming a person waiting for emergent speaking by pressing the emergent speaking key from the
delegate unit IMD-300, the person must wait for until the chairman will reply.
- If there is no reply from the chairman for 5 seconds, this function is automatically released.
- If a person waiting for emergent speaking already exists, pressing the key is invalid.
- To cancel waiting for emergent speaking, press the Cancel Reservation key.
- Method that the chairman operate the key when If a person waiting for emergent speaking already exists.
• Approval method
1) The chairman checks a person who calls for emergent speaking by pressing the PTT key.
2) The chairman approves speaking to the person who calls for urgent speaking by pressing the PTT key
again.
3) Speaking time follows speaking restriction time which is setup.
4) Current speaker becomes a waiter with the next number.
• Cancel method 1
1) The chairman checks a person who calls for emergent speaking by pressing the PTT key.
2) The chairman cancels a person who calls for emergent speaking by pressing the 1 Clear key.
3) The chairman gives the speaking right to the person who calls for urgent speaking by pressing the PTT
key again.
4) Current speaker continuously speaks for the fixed time.
• Cancel method 2
Press the 1 Clear key when cancels calls for emergent speaking without checking procedures.
(This is for giving no effect on the current speaker)

1) Mode Key: Free Mode and Reserve Mode are repeated whenever pressing this key.
- Free Mode: Displays “FREE 00 0:00” after displaying “FREE”.
- Reserve Mode: Displays “WAIT 00(reserved person numbers) 0:00(continued speaking time)” after
displaying “RESERVE”.
2) Chime Key: Displays “Chime Play”.
3) All Clear Key: Displays “All Clear”.
4) 1 Clear Key: Displays “One Clear”.
5) Time Set
- In case of 1 minute, displays “SPEAKING TIME 1Min”.
- In case of 2 minutes, displays “SPEAKING TIME 2Min”.
- In case of 3 minutes, displays “SPEAKING TIME 3Min”.
- In case of 4 minutes, displays “SPEAKING TIME 4Min”.
- In case of 5 minutes, displays “SPEAKING TIME 5Min”.
6) Time Clear Key (IMC-300): Displays “SPEAKING TIME OPEN”.
7) USB Memory Stick inserted: Displays “USB Detected”.
8) REC Key: “R” flickers for Saving, “R” lights off for Ending.
9) Main Volume – For the VFD, 24 steps are displayed from Volume MIN to Volume MAX. – For a LED, 12
steps are displayed.
10) For chairman’s speaking: Displays “Chairman”.
11) For calling of emergent speaking: Displays “EDC (Emergency Delegate Call)” mark.
12) Input signal level: Displays 20 levels in the Graphic Level.

2. IMC-300 chairman unit LCD, LED, Gooseneck LED


1) During chairman’s speaking: LCD displays “CH”, and LED lights up.
2) For calling of emergent speaking: LCD displays “EdC”, and LED flickers.
3) Volume Key: Displays “00 - 24”.
4) All Clear Key: Displays “A-CL”.
5) 1 Clear Key: Displays “1-CL”.
6) Time Set
- In case of 1 minute, displays “1-00”.
- In case of 2 minutes, displays “2-00”.
- In case of 3 minutes, displays “3-00”.
- In case of 4 minutes, displays “4-00”.
- In case of 5 minutes, displays “5-00”.
7) Time Clear Key: Displays “OPEN”.
8) Continued speaking time: Continued speaking time is displayed only for delegate unit (IMD-300).
- For the Free Mode, increased speaking time from “0-00” to “9959” is displayed.
- For the Reserve Mode, decreased speaking time from “5-00” to “0-00” is displayed.

3. IMD-300 Delegate Unit LCD/LED


1) Reservation number: LCD displays “r-01” through “r256”, and LED flickers.
2) Reservation cancel: LCD displays “CL”.
3) For the During Speaking - LCD - FREE mode, increased speaking time from “0-00” to “9959” is
displayed. Decreased speaking time from “5-00” to “0-00” is displayed.
- In the speaking time restriction status after LED On, LED flickers from 10 sec before ending time.
4) For calling of emergent speaking
- Calling delegate’s LCD displays “EdC”.
- Calling delegate’s LCD flickers.
5) For calling of emergent speaking, LCD displays “No” where there is same person during waiting.
