Working with Make-A-Wish

Driving Question
How can I help Make-A-Wish by How can I help Make-A-Wish by donating

In the beginning I had a hard time figuring
out what I wanted to do . I wanted to do a
project that involved photography. I came
up that involved creating a photography
business. After talking to some people I
came up the idea to donate my skills as a
photographer.

Project Vision and Proposal
To have a website dedicated to our project, Including a blog of who we helped and a
way of directly donating to Make-A-Wish themselves.

Original goal of 6 photoshoots by the end of 2018.

Total photoshoots = 12
Product Process Phase 1
For the first park of our project we spent a lot of time contacting Make-A-Wish,
experts for our interview and faculty members for the faculty interview. There was a
lot of emailing back and forth about scheduling.
Product Process Phase 2
Phase 2 of our project was going
around to all the photoshoots and
taking pictures. Most of the
photoshoots we did were water
related at Kalama park and then
there was one at Maui sports park.
Product Process Phase 3
For the last part of our project we had to go through all the photos and find the best
ones. We then added those photos to the gallery on our website.
Project Reflection
While doing the project, I never thought I could be This project stretched me because I had to reach out
involved in an world wide non profit organization. Throughout into the community and work with an organization. I haven't
the whole Junior project I’ve met so many different people. The
really ever done photoshoots with an organization, so that was
people at Make-A-Wish literally make wishes come true with
what they do, they go above and beyond. One main Issue that new for me. The main skills I used for this project were civic
came up often was scheduling. Some of the wishes we needed literacy and engagement and communication. I improved on
someone else to come in because of the time confliction during
them cause I had reach out and work with an organization, I
school, While also school being a issue with less wishes during
school time. also had to communicate a lot with Make-A-WIsh and my
partner. This project was a great experience because I got to
learn more about what Make-A-Wish does and I got to provide
families with memories that will last a lifetime. The most
challenging part of the project was scheduling.
